new this morning: police are searching for the person who took off... during a traffic stop. it happened just a few hours ago, at north 41st and east fern street in tampa. investigators say: officers had pulled the driver over... when the ?passenger hit the gas. the car crashed into a power-pole... and cracked it. people living the driver stayed at the scene... but the passenger took off... and detectives are still looking for them. ((jen)) now to a developing situation in polk county. a sinkhole has opened up there. (jen/ one man is in custody... charged in the fatal beating of another man in st. pete beach. it happened thursday afternoon, in a cul-de-sac near 78th avenue and coquina way. detectives found "kenneth darling" lying on the ground,unresponsive... later, he was prounced dead. (jen now "bruce edward wilson" is under arrest. deputies say: the two homeless men were drinking alcohol and got into a fight. detectives tell us: wilson punc times. he's now charged with second-degree murder. this is a mugshot from one of wilson's ?previous arrests. and he's had a lot... about two ?dozen of them, since 20-11. ((wally)) it must seem like a horrifying dream for a family from riverview. but the tragedy is all too real. they lost their nine-year old son in an accident on i-75 near ?brooksville last night... a huge six-car pile-up... ((wally fox-13's alcides segui is at st. joseph's hospital... doctors are treating several other family members... seriously injured in the accident.

(jen in pinellas county: it looks like you can plan that trip to the beach this weekend... without worry about the water. the health department says local beaches are safe, after more than two-hundred ?million gallons of sewage was dumped into the water during hurricane hermine. officials say enough time has passed for the water to flush itself clean. st petersburg is planning upgrades to sewer and stormwater systems to prevent (jen/ authorities on the east coast say: "joseph schreiber" has ?confessed to setting-fire to a mosque, that the orlando nightclub shooter occasionally attended. now he says: he's ?embarrassed by the crime. the fire happened on the 15th anniversary of the 9-1 attacks. yesterday, a judge ordered schreiber held without bail, calling him a danger to the community, and a flight risk. if convicted, schreiber faces up to 30-years behind bars (wally) florida democrats have now filed a complaint

the way he donated to supporters of attorney general pam bondi. (wally the chair of the state democratic party says trump violated state law in 20-13. the trump foundation gave 25-thousand dollars to a group called "and justice for all".. which promoted bondi's re-election campaign. but that donation violated federal tax law because charities cannot contribute to political causes. so earlier this year, trump personally reimbursed his committee. the complaint claims that reimbursment is a of a state law. we asked our political editor craig patrick if this will have any real impact on the trump campaign:

they say true love lasts a lifetime... and that's certainly true for a couple in north carolina. sad-but-sweet story... is truly trouching. (jen) getting the kids to pose for a photo is tough... they're always moving. but one guy has found the secret to great furry photos... and since his work... is truly ?lifechanging for them... he's this week's hometown hero. adam goldberg has a very special gift.not only is he a talented photographer.. he's also fluent in the language of dog. so i do like a chewbacca noise, and it sounds something like...soundwell it's not so much the words he usesa& but the sounds he makes. (bark) and they tilt there head and it's the perfect picture. and he does for the humane society of tampa bay's adoptable dogs. when you see a really good pitcture of one of our dogs, cats, or even rabbits or guinea pigs it makes all the difference in the world. each picture goes on the humane society of tampa bay's website.

recording people... in dorm showers. police say: 31- year-old "jovany fuentes" targeted other male students, using his cell phone camera. he reportedly told his friend all about it, who then told police. fuentes has been charged with video voyeurism and is on interim suspension. ((walter the city of tampa is keeping its red light cameras... for now. the city council passed an agreement thursday, on a new contract with "american traffic solutions." that will keep the cameras up and intersections, for another two years. supporters say: the cameras make intesections ?safer... but critics argue: it's more about ?money... calling the cameas a source of ?revenue for the city. (wally) nothing to brag about... the number of zika virus cases in florida... has topped 800. the vast majority of those cases are classified as travel-related... meaning they were brought into the state by people infected elsewhere. but dozens of cases have also been transmitted locally... including one new case reported wednesday in miami- dade county. the zika virus is expecially dangerous to pregnant women, since it can cause severe birth defects. governor rick scott appealed to congress earlier this week, for more federal funding to fight the virus. (wally protests are growing after police in columbus, ohio shot and killed a 13-year-old boy. police say: "tyree king" matched the description of someone they were looking-for in an armed

chased him down an alley... where he pulled-out what looked like a real gun. it turned out to be a b-b gun. one of officers shot and killed the boy. that officer is now on administrative leave. a puppy is recovering after a teen admitted to shooting the dog with a bow and arrow. the dauchshund mix was found wednesday... with an arrow in its neck. animal services ended up naming underwent emergency surgery... and is now with a foster family. an 18-year-old turned himself in yesterday... and told officers he shot the puppy because she was digging through trash. he was charged with a misdemeanor. animal services says it will take grace some time to recover... as well as learn to trust people again. morning... after getting into a fight following a shuffleboard match. it happened wednesday at the pinellas park senior center. police say herbert hayden got into an argument... that quickly escalated. officials say the 81-year-old punched another player in the face... then hit him with his shuffleboard cue. the man had several scratches on his cheek. hayden was charged with misdemeanor battery... he's being held on 250-dollars bond. attitude-- is a real thing. but one california student... who was bullied relentlessly... is changing all that with a new app. fox 13's russell rhodes is here to tell us about it. that's right... natalie hampton says she endured 2 years of eating lunch alone... and some pretty horrible bullies too. she's now a junior in high school... and is using that experience to help others who are a little "outside the box"-- just like her. natalie was the new girl in middle school... not knowing anyone-- she quickly became a target of bullying. natalie says she fortunately.. she ended up changing schools her freshmen year and quickly made friends. but that negative experience stuck with her.. so she created the "sit with us" app. it recruits students who volunteer to invite others to join them for lunch. this way... a student who doesn't have anywhere to sit can check the app and find a friendly face. and each of the volunteers takes a pledge to be kind and welcoming to anyone who joins their table. natalie says while
