senators president of united states, you got to keep in mind that the elections are actually run at the state level. there are state laws rules, regulations election officers who do the elections within each state. and so when we talk about challenging a result. really what we're talking about the margin of victory for a particular candidate is so narrow in this state, that the state will either have a concessionary or a mandatory manual recount procedure. so we're talking less than half of a percentage victory. then we go into this manual recount phase. >> and depending on the candidate, you can make challenges to maybe the manual recount wasn't done correctly. you can bring those challenges in the state's supreme court. so that's kind of the a way. that's where it would start. right. this could a lengthy process, rght? >> well, it can be expedition is priority.

state only has a small window to get things figured out. there are federal deadlines that kind of drive the election process. 35 to 46 days is really when this state has to make up their mind and give the certified results of the election. otherwise the u.s. congress has the authority, discretion to disregard the state's because the results haven't turned in and pick this winner. a nutshell 5 weeks or so to challenge the results, bring their case through the state supreme court, and them their even rarer circumstances that than we saw it in 2000 where you can make united states constitution challenges like oh the way they did recount violates actual protection. that was story in 200 oh 0. that's when united states supreme court gets involved. so it can get harry pretty

messy in the end. fingers crossed. yes. i think that too, you have inauguration day after the first of year. you're saying that 30 to 45-day window is not really enough to affect the presidencies. right. >> exactly. so ultimately the united states congress, they are the ones who pick the winner. so they are going to do that before inauguration day. so anything that hasn't been central settled or resolved before then is just and keep in mind within the states in meantime, so, maybe the republican candidate wins a particular state. and the democratic candidate wants to make a challenge. well if that state has elected democratic united states senators or house of representative members their votes are being recounted too. so party is going to say whoa time out candidate. whoa. our guys are already in there. we don't want to do. we're not part of problem you're

from different places. in another thing of course to consider is the circumstances to sway the election haves to line up just so. magic twois 70. if you're fighting about a state where the electoral college is only four votes, small state for election purposes it's probably not going to sway the elections one way or another. major spinning state. let's hope if there a constitute one stipulation can no more campaign ads. >> wednesday morning. and my presidential seal tie today. in support of the election. hopefully everybody. we hope so. all right. charley we'll get over to you right now. look at what you're up to charley. hey charley. best part campaign ads are 401k. because they have to buy those commercials from us. thank you.
