happening today in polk county: jury selection begins in a deadly hit and run trial. "john stone" is accused of rear-ending a motorcycle last november in mulberry with his pickup truck. the motorcycle driver... paul wooten... ?died at the

arrested two days later and charged with leaving the scene of a deadly crash.((more)) and there is also a ?lawsuit stemming from that tragedy. the brother of the man killed... is now ?suing two bars for serving alcohol to the driver. corey wooten claims that both the "mulberry american legion" and the former "x-y-z liquors" sold drinks to john stone the night of the deadly crash. they claim the bars ?knowingly served drinks to man... with a drinking problem. any money awarded from the lawsuit would go to woo help pay for funeral services. a man charged with ?killing a pink flamingo at busch gardens... is scheduled to be back in court today. "joseph corrao" was arrested back in august. police say the 45 year old grabbed the flamingo, named "pinky" at the animal viewing area and tossed her to the ground, right in front of his teenage children. the zoo was forced to uthanize the flamingo because of the injuries. the flamingo was actually famous... known for ?dancing in front of guests. corrao is charged with aggravated

pinellas park police say they've finally tracked down the person who murdered a man, and left his body in a dumpster. the suspect is 27-year-old corey watkins. investigators believe back on november 19th.... watkins killed "will hodges." a day later-- hodges' body was found behind the shoppes at park place off highway 19. investigators say fingerprints at the scene and d-n-a in the victim's blood... links to watkins. police say watkins admitted to be in the area around the time of the murder... but denies knowing anything about the crime. he an update out of bartow where two people died in a crash saturday. it happened along ernest smith boulevard and highway 17 south. police say 79-year-old daphine myers and 73-year-old dwaine williams died ... after their 81-year-old relative turned in front of a passenger van. the 81-year-old driver-- earl williams-- was taken to the hospital... as well as the driver of the van. their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

one person is dead... after a crash near the "disney springs" shopping complex in orlando. it happened around six last night on south apopka vineland road, right by the onramp to i-4. that's just near the exit to the disney world complex. according to the highway patrol, two vehicles collided in the crash. it's not clear how many people were involved, or their ages... but at least one person was transported to the hospital, where they later died. a very special sign of the holidays tonight in tampa. and it will help a group that ?really needs some joy this seaso tampa general hospital is holding it's annual tree lightning. here's a look at the huge tree from last year. the tree will go up in the garden, right near the main entrance. the garden is a place patients and their families go to relax. and now they'll get a glimpse of the holiday spirit at the same time. the lightning is scheduled for five p-m. the hospital will also have some holiday lights on ?top of their buildings, so people can see them throughout

rica and nicaragua were the hardest hit. pope francis gave a special prayer for the victims of the hurricane sunday... those who died, and the ?thousands who are now left homeless. and there was also some extreme weather... a lot closer to the pope's home. rain and flooding across italy causes a big landslide. this wall came crashing down on sunday morning people nearby say they heard a loud rumble then a bang. the wall was helping to support the side of a hill before it gave way. dozens of their homes because of the mess. some were forced to sleep at a nearby church. and... some people in southern california were celebrating the holiday weekend... by hitting the slopes. about three to five inches of fresh snowfall fell on bear mountain. the "big bear mountain resort" saw about ten thousand visitors, over friday and saturday. and that doesnt even include the numbers from sunday. many skiiers and snowboarders are calling it an early christmas present.

second weekend. it looks like a former member of the "brat pack"... could be heading behind bars. "anthony michael hall" faces up to seven years in prison... after getting in a fight with a neighbor. it happened two months ago outside hall's condo in playa del rey, california. surviellance video shows "the breakfast club" star ?shoving the other man to the ground. the neighbor allegedly broke his wrist and hurt his back. and the l-a county d-a just charged hall with felony battery with serious bodily harm. and finally, we go all the way to ?russia... for one heartwarming story. it's about family, and their adorable new pet. of course it's not a dog or a cat... that would be too ?boring. lets just say they should have named it "bambie." yup... they got a pet deer! but they didn't find this young deer at a pet store. they saved it from the forest near their home. the deer was injured and dehydrated, near the ural mountains. so they took
