they left here, while 30 year-old zachary cope, who lives here along with his five two-year old moth ther rebecca was arraigned for her murder and taken to the bucks county prison overnight. zachary cope had only minor dealings with police here this lower makefield no one had ever suspect he was capable of any kind of violence like this. the his mother, rebecca bludgeoned and stabbed to death, bloody scene throughout the house, police found her in the kitchen and found out about the murder in the honest of ways yesterday through zachary cope him self. >> so, the officers tracked him back to his home which was lower hill top road, entered the home and found a woman face down in the kitchen floor apparently deceased. >> reporter: reason ken, the chief here was saying the officer tracked him back, what happened was cope himself and this cold weather without wearing shorts and flip-flops,

and blood on them trying to stop drivers a few blocks over on a main drag and he finally stops one and he says hey, i just killed my mother, and the motorist, nicely at least not only stopped and who wouldn't want to stop when you you see a guy like that on the street and called police immediately and then zachary said the same thing to the police who then came over here. he had a lot of irons on him that his mother tried to do everything that she can to fight for her own life because he has scratches, scrapes, cuts, on his back, his arms, and his legs, so she didn't give up, too easily. what a sad story a mother taking care of her son and then this is the thank you that she gets. >> steve, it is such a sad story, thanks very much. we will go to that sad story to another sad story a mother who needs our help. big reward, $20,000 reward for information leading police to a hit and run driver who struck, that child, just 12 years old and left him there. this all happened outside a

delaware daze care. our lauren johnson is at the police department in new castle with the very latest on this, lauren. >> reporter: good morning to you, karen. police released new surveillance video that they hepp will help them find this person and, of course, that reward as you mentioned is $20,000. the lets take a look at that video. middle school student brian richards is recovering from serious injuries after police, say that a driver hit him and never stopped. he was trying to cross the street with the friend when he was hit and luckily the boy is expect to be okay but he is dealing with a lot of injuries. check out the new video of the car involved, it is hard to tell exactly what the car looks like but police tell us that they believe the driver was behind the wheel of the newer model chrysler 300, red in color. here's young boy's mother about her son's extensive injuries and her hopes for the driver. >> he has a broken left femur, he has got a broken, his right leg is broken. so his foot is shattered, his ankle. they will try to repair all

and details, of that massacre that happened at a church down in south carolina. there was video that was shown, too graphic, we cannot put it on television. chilling pictures also there, apparently it was so dramatic that the attorney for dylann roof said his mother hearing this had a heart attack, during the trial and had to go to the hospital. roofies facing 33 counts from that massacre that happened back in june of 2015. it is 4:20. we have a bright spot, some good news for people trying to park in philadelphia, it will be harder for those tow truck companies to take your vehicles. city council did pass a measure to crackdown on illegal towing. the customers have been complaining forever they have been gouged, their car has been taken and it should not have been. here's new rules. they will require that cars that are illegally parked in private driveways or private rot has ton ticketed before they can be towed. but the owners of the tow companies say it is not fair, to to lump good and bad

confession. lets get out to steve keeley in lower makefield to slain what we know, steve. >> reporter: you can see yell he tape shutting off this street here in the suburbs and police car guarding the front of the house. you can see all of the lights on still in the house that 30 year-old zachary cope will not becoming back to. he has been arraigned and taken to his new home the bucks county prison. criminal complaint says that while here with his mother where they lived alone together he used a frying pan and kitchen cutting board to beat his five two-year old mother over the head and then a kitchen knife to stab her. she was found face down in the kitchen after police found out from zachary himself that they need to get here who first stopped a passing driver a couple of roads over, and told them yesterday afternoon i just killed my mother. >> it was around 3:00 o'clock this afternoon our police officers received a call that there was a male up around million top area have of our

township acting suspicious walking around with shorts on and flip-flops. the officers responded to the area and they located a male. when they approached him he said to them i just killed my mother. so, the officers track him back to his home which was 23 lower hill top road, entered the home and found a woman face town in the kitchen floor apparently deceased. >> reporter: cope himself had his own injuries, that if he didn't do the harm himself indicate that his mother tried to fight him off, scrapes, scratches, cuts to his back, arms, and legs, and the chief tells us that there are obvious signs that she did probably struggle for her life throughout this house, blood not just in the kitchen where she was found but throughout other rooms as well. karen and thomas. >> so sad and disturbing, steve, thank you. we have a woman to tell you about, we have this video, and there is a guy, and she
