gotcha. keep going, chris. he's gone. >> all right. well, a live look now at the ben franklin parkway chris was trying to tell us massive cleanup down. you can see it's calm down a little bit. let's get out to dave schratwieser talking to fans all day in center city. dave? >> reporter: iain, call it epic. call it historic. come up with a super la tiff to describe this day. i'll tell from you the street and i mean broad street it was amazing. >> dream come true. >> awesome dream come true. >> it was the day every eagles fan has dreamed about. only thursday it was real and right there in front of them to see and savior g we're just excited to be here and they won the super bowl for the first time. >> ever since growing up grew up in havertown it's been -- i'm 59 years old and we've been diehard eagles fans our hole whole lives much this is just amazing. >> three generations of the ramirez family from northeast philly got up at 3:00 in the morning to get a front row seat

at broad and spruce. they got to see the super bowl champs up close and personal. >> this is amazing. i mean, it means so much to me. to my family. you know, it's just the most beautiful thing in the world. >> it's just so great that i can share it with my daughter. we've been watching for many years. i grew up watching eagles with my father. >> reporter: the crowds looked on and cheered from street level to parking garages and rooftops. up and down broad street. if there was an elevated position to watch history in the making, the fans found it. >> this is special to be out here right now with my girlfriend and everyone else here. it's awesome. >> did you ever think this day was going to come. >> i did. but i didn't know it was going to come so soon. >> i wait the 50 years for this. every year day in and day out we're waiting. now it's here. >> reporter: in the end fans of every age got what they came for. they got to stand shoulder to shoulder and salute their team. their champions, they're eagles.

>> 7:09. live look the ben franklin bridge here. jammo coming in to south jersey this is what we've been seeing all afternoon. since the parade ended the folks walking back to new jersey where they parked over there by the stadium the outdoor stadium complex over there in camden, new jersey. light volume so far on the may your roadways just one accident here this is westbound ott on the schuylkill right before the king of prussia under change. so that's causing a big jam. from pretty much city line past belmont all the way out again into the king of prussia interchange south on 95 heavy heading down into delco with some sun glare. here's an accident 26th street this is leaving the south philly area. heading over in toward what would be the platt bridge for again the gang trying to use the short cut out of south philly downtown we go jammed solid leaving on the vine street expressway trying to get over toward the schuylkill. we really didn't have a morning rush hour. it was all just parade rush

transportation issues at patco in sent city. jeff? >> reporter: patco obviously is moving lots of folks to try to to get them over to south jersey and i think some folks decided they just didn't want to wait decided that a brisk walk over the ben franklin bridge was probably best way to get to their homes in camden and cherry hill and beyond. we actually watched folks cross the big steel span. we'll show you some pictures here. it was a sea of bobbing heads as fans made their way from the parkway to the ben franklin bridge. some folks had decided that walking the span was their best way in and out of this city. crowded with about 2 million or so eagles fans. others decided they simi did not want to wait for new jersey transportation and patco with crush of people there they decided just to hoof it. to hoof it across the bridge. we talked to two young men who were crossing the bridge this afternoon.

>> well, we tried to go to the patco but tickets sold out yesterday so we decide the only way in was to walk the ben franklin so we got here at 5:00 a.m. we walk the ben franklin and now we're walking back. >> it's a journey. it's a journey that like the eagles it take awhile but we make it. >> that's a pretty good image. she said it's a journey. in other words the walk across the bridge would be a journey and also eagles sort of fight to actually finally within the super bowl was a journey as well. she actually is a civil engineer and likes bridges she was more than happy to actually cross the ben franklin. i take septa. i ride septa have for long time here. the septa ride in this morning ws quite smooth but of course this afternoon when you have this many people trying to get on public transportation and go back obviously is going to be some slow down which is obviously what we're watching now. but for the folks who live in south jersey who wanted to cross this bridge today, they did, and we watched them do it little bit more later on in the newscast.

folks. >> thank you very much, jeff. we talk to heather redford from septa saying the market frankford and broad street lines moved 65,000 people an hour right about now. that's a whole lot of people moving going on. tell you what. ben franklin parkway life look as the after party continues and scott williams, what a gorgeous day. the chill nobody cared. >> absolutely. lucy. it was little bit of a philly special. in the weather department today. it was sunny, it was cold but everyone was fired up and fly eagles fly. right now, temperatures are still chilly. 31 degrees. you factor in that west win at 13 miles per hour this is what it feels like. 21 degrees and the sun will set shortly before 5:00 their. so temperatures tonight will continue to fall into the 20s. wind chills in the teens and overnight low temperatures will dip into the teens north and west and the 20s for the city. look at the temperatures. north and west suburbs right now

gordon who is live at the linc with one special story. bruce? >> reporter: yeah, iain, south broad street as we all know has its own uniqueness to it. it's over own special mystique as well it's not just the parking in the middle of the street thing it's the pathway of course to the phillies sports scene to get there you're likely to pass of all things a flower shop run by a very special sports fan. >> ann turned her ten pennies floral shop into a parade party room for the big event. inviting family and friends to share in a celebration 58 years in the making. >> it's probably one of most exciting days of my life oher than the fact the day i married my husband. >> jerry passed away back in 2015 but anna is certain he is up in heaven having traded his angels wings for those of an eagle. >> yup. >> ten pennies has been a fixture on south broad since 1980. >> to used to come every thursday for coffee. >> terrell owens. rodney pete.

mcnabb. >> for nearly 40 years anna has been creating floral arrangement for and making friends with philly sports legend had front row seat for championship seasons, phillies and sick certification but this was different. >> the others were parades. this is something more. >> this is -- i can even -- this is an event, this is -- i don't even know what word to use. >> reporter: with crowds of families fans young and old cheering themselves hearse, championship parade passed right by anna's shop. double decker buses hearing the city's newest heroes men who have done more philadelphia than simply carry a silver trophy. >> philadelphia eagles gave us live. we were down in the dumps, and they gave us something that we're going cherish for the rest of our lives. >> reporter: after more than half century wait the parade was over in a matter of minutes. brief but worth every pressure moment. the calendar says february.

but to anna it feels like december. >> i felt just like that little kid christmas morning getting the doll i waited for. it was fabulous. >> reporter: it was that good. >> it was better. >> reporter: ann says she has been to 15 super bowls over the years including the eagles 2005 loss to new england. she did not make it to minneapolis on sunday. it was her birthday. of course her beloved birds gave her a wonderful gift. what a perfect present for her bruce gordon. of course, when the team landed at airfield and you had a whole bunch of fans with through. kind of an impromptu gathering of sorts. >> reporter: yeah. it was quite a special afternoon seeing the team come back. i have to say, right from soup to nuts from beginning to end the way the team has handled this both in the formal program today obviously it was kind of scripped out to certain degree. i'm not sure anybody was scripting jason kelce' remarks.

>> don't think so. >> this was obviously a formal program. but on monday, in particular, i was really taken by the fact that the team officials led by jeff lurie brought the trophy off the plane and literally walk it right over where the fans were. it's a really tight confined area. the fans many of them arrived there. just wanting to show support but feeling like, owing, i want to see these guys from 50 or 60 yards away and wave they'll know i'm here and they'll go over to the novacare sent. they came right on over to the fence showing off that trophy. kind of posing with it and posing forefoot foes toes and so forth. it was a wonderful spec catell right up through today. i think the team has handled this in really high class fashion. >> 100%. >> i would agree with that bruce, the fans loved it thanks so much. >> take look the this. time lapsed video of the ben franklin parkway millions of eagles fans packed the city. love that sea of green. stay with us. we're coming right back after this. ♪

officials were thinking, hmm, about 2 million maybe could show up here. the question is how do they -- how do they actually estimate the crowd size? very own bob kelly you got the answer to that one. >> yeah. i talked to buddy that actually does crowd estimating end told me how they do they take a map of the entire area. and then zoom on in and they put little squares in here and they'll figure in that little square there's ten people. and then they do that the entire parade route because there's no admission to an even like an outdoor parade like like that. that's how they'll figure that out as close as they can get to that actual count. probably have that later on tonight or tomorrow. here's live look at the folks still trying to get over the ben franklin bridge into camden, new jersey. they're still close. this spring garden street police are still blocking access from, say, university city p toward behind the art museum. the big delays are really just trying to get on to the train platforms both 30th and jefferson. trying to get out of town.

o'connell. chris? >> reporter: iain, lucy, good evening. a monumental day here in the city of philadelphia capping off a pretty amazing week from a super bowl victory. what a week it has been for fans of the philadelphia eagles. the victory parade is now wrapped up. it is now in the books and the cleanup now continues as you see the streets crews out here already breaking down the barricades and many of those hoards of fans that clogged the streets are now headed home. now, all of this started around 11:00 o'clock this morning. frankly about 4:00 o'clock this morning when people started cupping down here. broad patison the parade started where the busload eagles players and coaches, family and friends headed up broad street around city hall, down the ben franklin parkway ending up at the art museum. i tell you the words i've been hearing today from eagles fans,

magical. amazamazing. once in lifetime. we've seen grown men cry today. we also saw an eagles team who was soaking up every minute of this parade. they are taking pick err of picturetakingtaking pictures fr. there was few problems but nothing major to speak as we bring you back out here live. saying this was just so sweet. saying we can't wait this long for yet another championship. one thing i've heard repeated over and over again, these last few days were so sweet and magical we want to do it again. we want a repeat. we want a parade back here this time next year. guys? hoping we get one. >> absolutely. you know players, management, the owner saying get used to this. because we'll start playing into february which is wonderful. so remember matt collins he did the, that funny little dance thing he actually taught that to kristen. our kristen rodgers.

this is the best city in the world. with the best fans in the world and now we have the world championship. get used to it. let's go! >> reporter: so jason kelce during his very empassioned declaration of love for the city of philadelphia this is very i walk back from the art museum before coming over here. a lot of eagles chant but check this out. so jason kelce call out michael lombardi for his comments on doug pederson when he was first hired. but lombardi today came out and tweeted, that what kelce said is in fact wrong that kelce is right. doug pederson is a great coach and lombardi's original thoughts were wrong that's the mood of this town. underdogs no more. they are the kings of the nfl. lucy, iain. >> they sure are. good for michael lombardi to say it was his bad.

[ laughter ] >> it was a cold one out there but nothing stopping the eagles nation from celebrating the champs. will we see a winter warmup. scott's forecast in just 15 seconds. >> we had front row seats at witnessing history today across the area. it was cold out there. but the sun was shining and folks they were fired up. it's going to be cold overnight. low temperatures tonight will dip into the teens and 20s. we're dry for now, but off to the west this is our next disturbance it will combine with a system to the south and that will set the stage for perhaps one to 2-inches of rainfall come the weekend. so saturday night we're looking at the rainfall.

beginning it continues into your sunday and it looks like all rain but look at the temperatu temperatures so a bit of a trade off. 51 will be the high temperature on saturday. mid 50s as we move toward your sunday. we'll run the computer model and take a look on average one to perhaps as much as 2-inches or more by sunday night. temperatures right now, north and west upper 20s. low 30s for the philadelphia area it feels like the teens and low 20s right now when you factor in that wind. that's really been the story all day today. overnight low temperatures tonight, teens north and west. we're looking at mid 20s for philadelphia. the weather authority seven day forecast showing clouds tomorrow. upper 30s. maybe a flurry far north and west tour the pocono mountains. watching that rainfall one to 2-inches before all is said and done for the weekend. temperatures next week upper 40s to low 50 ]

♪ what a parade it was. look at eagles nation celebrat celebrating mere hours ago. >> a lot of people out there definitely a day to remember. but now they got all get home. bob kelly staying up late with us bob. we got jammos out there. >> we got jammos. jammos since 4:30 this morning actually. but here's where we stand right now. actually everyone is behaving themselves a lot of cleanup underway. spring garden street still blocked here as blocking access to the art museum area. with that cleanup if you're waiting for folks to come home on the schuylkill, westbound over half an hour from belmont all the way out toward conshy from earlier accident. stack up this is the last line of the folks coming over the ben franklin bridge. roll let's roll video big jams have been getting in line for the trains on mass transit. we drove by one of the patco high speed line stations. long line wrapped up down and around the block, but everybody was orderly and everybody knew the drill. let's go video from skyfox. over the scene of 30th street

30 years reporting on television here in philadelphia. easily my best day in the news business here. just an incredible day. you know when this -- when they won on sunday, i was trying to remember -- trying to think of did i want to be on the parkway for that. or did i want to be on broad street. let me tell you something right now there's no place like broad street. 100 feet wide. eagles all over the place. fans all over the place. amazing day. i got to spend some time with folks like the ramirez familiarly from northeast philadelphia. they got up at 3:30 in the morning. they came here at 4:30 they got front row seat in front of the kimmel center much three generation of the ramirez family out here today. they enjoyed every second of it. i got to meet big bill who tells me he waited 50 years to see this. he was disappointed many times. he thinks about it every day and he said, you know, what, let me tell you something, dave, it happened and i'm happy. you can beat a live look that. just an amazing day. i wanted to something real quick

>> dawn has been out along the parade route. what are you up. >> it was an amazing day. i've never seen so many people in my whole life. the last of the fans are boarding buses right now. but i have to tell you this was a family... >> we're a philly family. we're here for the phillies parade when they won the world series and we had to come today to make history again. >> all 30 of them from levitto levittown, bucks county. >> we have seven girls one boy on one side. four boys on another side. vinnie and joanne girl boy on the other side. about 15 of us. marriages and kids and everything. a lot of people. >> a lot of people indeed. especially when you add in friends and their children. challenge how to get everyone to the parade of champions to celebrate the eagles success. >> confession out how to get down here. so we were like, do we rent cars, do we drive? not taking a train we rent add tour bus.

parade of champions. city of champions. what a day. >> yeah. let's get out to dave kinchen at jefferson station. dave, what's going on there? >> reporter: well a lot of people getting home and fortunately septa is returning to normal service by 7:00 for the market frankford line and the broad street line let's go to video right now. a lot of people making their way home but slowly very slowly because of long lines all across the transit system. but you know what, people don't really mind. they're chanting the eagles slogan, the fight chant. and they're having a good time. really has maybe an after party as they're waiting to get home as well but it's difficult for some people. we talk to one woman about her journey home. >> it's very hard right now. the first stop is 13 street i'm getting on the el going to frankford terminal. i have to walk to the next

station which is eighth street. if that's crowded i have to wait to go to second street and then after that i just have to wait. >> reporter: we saw massive line going through center city which we think it was was the patco line going several blocks. so take your time and be safe. back to you. >> dave you got these fans jumping around you. they don't seem to be worry it's taking a long time for them to get home. >> they don't care. >> we lost him. >> speaking, he got swallowed up bite crowd what just happened just now. >> something like that. >> tell was. bob kelly, a lot of folks trying to get home. >> trying to get home and i think septa patco everybody doing a great job. mass transit definitely had their hands full today. look the crowd is gone. no longer a jammo on the bennie. everybody that walked over the bridge we were stacked and packed from mid span on into south jersey. made it into the parking lot. so that's good news for folks that are walking home into new jersey. however, now, an accident this eastbound on the schuylkill right at 26th street.

anybody heading into south philly or for the walt wait money bridge you'll find delays there. the schuylkill expressway out of town about half an hour from belmont out toward conshy. we had earlier accident out near the king of prussia mall interchange. and we're stacked up leaving town on the vine expressway bumper to bumper here from pretty much broad street over through the schuylkill expressway. septa says they'll return all service to normal in about an hour. 7:00 o'clock we'll go back to normal on both the market frankford and broad street sub wayne and we'll be ready for a normal rush hour. if you're ready tomorrow morni morning. >> yeah. if people decide to go to work tomorrow i guess. >> yeah. we'll see what happens. live look at the ben franklin parkway right now. you know the night that they won the super bowl nick foles when he finally got back to his locker carson wentz went up to him and like grabbed him and says, i told you. i knew it. and there you go. you know super bowl lii in the bag.
