take a few degrees, across the region. no rain today but rain tomorrow. and i'll track that coming up. president obama arrived in germany this morning to join other leaders at the g-8 summit and that he will dress violence in ukraine and russian president dispute continue. and obama will urging his european counterparts to extend the economic sanctions on russia that has cause someday discontent among the russian population. but the white house admits that the measures have done little to slow down the campaign on the border with ukraine. crews have working this morning on accident reconstruction here. and we're waiting to get more details on those involved in the accident. overnight lockdown around the white house has the police

responding to a suspicious package. a package was discovered shortly before midnight. secret service agents kept the people out of a several block area. and the lockdown was lifted this morning. and no word when that was in the package. a warning this morning for anyone thinking of taking a swim in the potomac. think twice before heading into the water. that that is the word as crews continue to look for a man that drown. violence on the streets of washington d.c. overnight. the police responded to a triple stabbing north of the horizon center. it is on the 2800 block of alabama. and several people are recovering from morning from

gunshot wounds. and the police said that an attempted robbery may be the motive for a triple shooting on the 100 block of urban pin street southwest and they reported shootings in northwest, southeast as well. and the police tell us that they are lack like -- looking into if any of the shootings are connected. the police are looking for two men that escaped from a prison in upstate new york. they cut through a steel wall and followed a series of tunnels till they emergeed from a manhole outside. one is in for murder killing a man and disremembering his body. and the governor seemed surprised by the he is glaip this facility was build in

we have clouds out there. and i was outside on the weather terrace so we're going to see a lot of sunshine this afternoon. no rain chances today. 69 degrees. but once you head out to the suburbs. we're talking a couple upper 50s out there. so comfortable for the early morning exercisers. and we have fog in the valley and areas like down in harrisonberg. but most areas are okay along the metro spots. and 12:00, we're looking at temperatures in mid-70s. and the southeasterly winds will keep us nice and wind today. and a couple showers possible. but everyone else is rain-free today with a good amount of sunshine. and tonight we stay dry and tomorrow morning, no problems. it is tomorrow afternoon into the evening with the yellow alert for monday. and some showers, thunderstorms

lots of clouds out there for now. but they're not going to last all day. we'll see good sunshine this afternoon and fair weather clouds that will hang around for the afternoon. 64 in res continue and 65 in chevy chase. and leesburg 59. a comfortable start. and it will be a gorgeous day, probably the most comfortable day of the next 7. we'll see the temperature start to soar. high temperature is in place and not a lot going on. if you have outdoor plans, you can left umbrellas at home. unless you're traveling in the mountains that is what you'll run into. 80 in leesburg. not a bad afternoon. and tomorrow we're track something thunderstorms in the evening drive home. so that is going to interrupt your pm commute.

dangerous. another violent night on the streets of washington d.c. around 3:00 a.m., the police responded to a triple stabbing on 407th street and also alabama avenue. and seven people are recovering this morning from gunshot wounds after a violent night friday into saturday. and the police said that the attempted robberies may have been the motive for the triple shooting on urban street southwest. and there were also shooting in the northwest and southeast. and they're looking to see if any of these are related. hundreds of people came together to honor area remember slain journalist -- and it was an emotionally charged event as mourners wept openly for the young life that was taken too soon. >> when she would dance in the

so we started this nine years ago. and when i got to nova children's hospital and i realized if i wanted to take care of the children there, i needed the staff to help me raise money to help with heart defects. >> reporter: you are the neighbor of this incredible six- year-old boy that got into a sledding accident and got hit by a car. how is he doing? >> he is recovering in a fabulous way. it is a true miracle. when he was in the hospital in the winter and he was in a coma, you didn't know what was going to happen. but he is starting to run around and play and walking and talking and doing all the normal things. he's still going through rehab and has a long way to go. but incredible strides. it's been fabulous to watch. >> reporter: you've been with the family every step of the way. >> i've known them for about 12

or 13 years. lance's father we ran our first army ten miler together about ten years ago. and it's been amazing to see them and how strong thorough going through incredible experience. >> reporter: many teens will be running for their cause to help this cause at nova children's hospital heart program. a memorial service will be held sold for fallen fire and rescue personnel that died in the line of duty this maryland. it is the tenth annual service to take place at the maryland emergency services memorial park in annapolis. and it gets underway at 2:00 p.m. and the silver springs volunteer fire department celebrate its anniversary this weekend. governor larry hogan wants to look at high speed trains to cure the transportation

storm on monday. but it could hit some parts of the peninsula while it -- while it is hurricane today. and residents a small town in hawthorne, texas is cleaning up today. it was hit by a tornado late friday. this is the first tornado that the town of seen and the storms did not hold back, pulling roofs off houses and tree into cars. indian weddings are a big business in the district. and parents will drop thousands to create and authentic home style ceremony.
