what's expected to happen today. rico, good morning. good morning brandi, don. for the first time since mcdonnell's conviction, the high court may consider hearing the former governor's appeal. it will take at least four justices to decide if they want to review the case. in september 20-14, a federal jury convicted mcdonnell on 11 federal corruption counts. and, last year a federal judge sentenced mcdonnell to two years in prison. a jury found him and his wife, maureen, guilty of trading political favors for gifts and loans from a wealthy businessman. his legal team immediately appealed the conviction and pleaded his case all the way up to the u-s supreme court. mcdonnell's attorney's argued the former governor was convicted based on a broad definition of corruption that puts all elected officials at risk of prosecution. if the justices agree to put his corruption case on the docket, oral arguments could be held before june. if the court denies mcdonnell's petition, he would forced to go to prison to serve out his sentence. it's unlikely the supreme court will announce today if they will hear the former governor's appeal,

new this morning, a local congressman says he's throwing his support behind hillary clinton for president. george "g.k." butterfield represents the first district of north carolina, which includes elizabeth city, hertford and edenton. butterfield is also the chairman of the congressional black caucus. he wrote that mrs. clinton has the foresight to improve the lives of millions of african-americans. butterfield went on to say, that she has spoken out about racism and supports criminal justice reform. butterfield has been in the u-s house since 2004. this morning, a stand-out

chesapeake bay. amazingly, he had only minor injuries when crews pulled him from the water. he somehow managed to get out of the cab and swim to the surface. the salvage company will try to recover the truck if the weather permits. thieves are stealing expensive air conditioning units in hampton. police say crooks stole nine a/c compressors in two incidents in the last week. this is the damage from the riverdale office park, off cunningham drive. experts say the thieves take the copper and other parts and sell them. victims have to shell out thousands of dollars for new units. manager they can't continue to leave these units opened, because the copper will be stolen, you hear about it in the news all the time, sure enough we took a closer look, the copper is gone. everything that's salvageable to sell is gone." a second incident happened on research drive. so far, police have no leads. local economic leaders say they will make an

macy's store that's closing in norfolk. yesterday we told you, macy's plans to close the military circle location, along with the stores at peninsula town center in hampton and chesapeake square in chesapeake because of poor sales. this will affect hundreds of employees and leave empty space at three shopping centers. 2:38:56 we beleive that we have a mix of retail but we also have a real opportunity with teh amount of acreage involved to increase our business base dramatically - its a great central location for that. also to bring in new residential communities and other uses from a residential perspective. you can read complete statements from officials in chesapeake and hampton on wavy dot com. our recent weather roller coaster is causing problems for local sea life. especially sea-turtles. biologists at the roanoke island aquarium in manteo say the sudden drop in ocean temperature is stunning the turtles.

we go!! the new mom and her husband were speeding on the way to the hospital. that's when troopers pulled them over. the woman was already in labor in the back seat. an ambulance showed up and took mom and the baby girl to the hospital. this morning, everyone is doing well. also caught on tape, crews rescued a man who wound up in a garbage truck. check out this video from chico, california, just north of sacramento. the fire department says the man got stuck in the truck's trash compactor. officers say he was sleeping in a dumpster. the truck arrived to pick-up the trash, and the man got caught up in "unfortunately, there were no signs of someone inside the dumpster. they made several stops before they noticed or heard that someone was inside the dumpster." this morning, the man is recovering at the
