In this on-demand video briefing, panelists Alexandria Fisher (Alberta Urban Municipalities Assocation/Alberta Municipal Services Corporation), Dr. Lars Hallstrom (Alberta Centre for Sustainable Rural Communities), Enayat Aminzadah (Alberta Community Learning Network) and Dr. Paul Watson (Alberta Rural Development Network) provide brief overviews of the missions and services their organizations offer to support local capacity in Alberta.
This briefing has been designed to support stakeholders, including at the local elected-official and senior staff-levels, better understand the roles, responsibilities and contributions that different capacity-support organizations offer.
This briefing was prepared as an in-kind contribution by the panelists, with the support of their employers to participate, for the November 2011 Alberta Water & Wastewater Workforce Development Symposium.
The Symposium was an inter-sectoral capacity-building initiative of the Alberta Water & Wastewater Operators Association (AWWOA) in partnership with Alberta's employers, post-secondary institutions and other community-capacity partners with major financial sponsorship of a Workforce Attraction and Retention Program contribution made possible by the Government of Alberta.
