On Tuesday, January 24th, 2012, Atlanta members of Jobs with Justice, Occupy Atlanta, Georgia Detention Watch, A.B.L.E., and the International Action Center joined forces to demand people move their money out of Wells Fargo Bank. Wells Fargo, along with Bank of America and various mutual funds, are major investors in Corrections Corporation of America and the GEO Group, the two largest private prison builders in the country. CCA and GEO have been found to be the lobbyist's behind anti immigrant bills that have passed in Arizona, Georgia and Alabama. Their system appears to be to lobby states to pass harsh anti-immigration laws, and once the laws are passed, become the contractor to build and manage the detention centers to house the recently arrested "illegal immigrants", while raking in millions from the state. The protesters are demanding that Wells Fargo divest from CCA and GEO and invest in positive community development, or face mass customer account closings. This protest also took place in over twelve other cities across the country. This film runs about 35 minutes.
