Shocking beyond belief. The book written in the 1930s which is the basis of this film allows for no blacks, no Jews, no Catholics, and only 5 or 6 at the most Presbyterians to be on the ship of people to be saved. Everyone else about 90% of the crew and passengers are Episcopalians aka Church if England (low Church). The single exception is for 1 Japanese man, but only after they discover he is part of the Japanese Royal Family.
