We are happy to announce that we are working in collaboration with March42 and GamingLegend64 to preserve a total of over 150 prototypes spanning across various systems (Nintendo 64, GameCube, Dreamcast, PS1/2, PC, and more). These were secured from the "Uncle Duffy Collection".
Duffy was a former employee of Acclaim who, unfortunately, passed away two years ago. Since then, his family has started selling off his game collection. Due to the large volume of data, these releases will be dropped in a "per system lot".
The following is the first lot, which contains a total of seven Nintendo 64 prototypes. Titles include: All-Star Baseball 2001, Bust-A-Move 3 DX, Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000, NBA Jam 99, South Park Rally (x2), and Turok 3. In this release, some of the ROMs include a fixed version alongside the original unmodified dump. This is due to Acclaim neglecting to properly change the region in the header on their prototype cartridges, making them unbootable on flashcarts and emulators. Flashcarts and emulators will usually look at the GUID in the ROM's header to guess the region, however, this check is completely ignored on official hardware.
