Integrating 3D virtual cars in real environment is a powerfull and essential tool for day-by-day Design process at Renault. Using similar techniques the Renault car ''Vel Satis'' has been integrated in Paris, lighting the city with a touch of magic. Also without taking any confidentiality risks, Renault is able to film and see it's latest production driving around the streets of Parisbefore it's presentation to the public. To improve drastically the quality, a complete range of software from 2D...

In the TV cartoon series, Zoids, made with the toon shader of SoftImage 3D, and 2D cel animations were blended without any oddness.First, each 3D CG model's basic actions (walking, running, jumping) were established, then using the ''animation sequencer'' function of SoftImage 3D, an autofilling ''motion blend'' was performed on the changing parts between the basic actions to produce many cuts. Then, RETAS! PRO and After Effects were used for the cel drawings combining 2D characters, hanging...

Knitwear rendering presents a significant challenge because of the many detailed characteristics of knitwear, such as the microstructure of yarn fibers, variations in stitch patterns, and shape irregularities. In our SIGGRAPH 2001 paper, we address this rendering problem by introducing a modeling primitive called the lumislice, which represents a yarn cross-section. By propagating a lumislice over a knitwear skeleton and adding soft shadow effects, we are able to synthesize realistic images of...

This animation demonstrates a new practical model for rendering translucent materials. Translucent materials, such as marble, milk and skin have a soft and smooth appearance that cannot be simulated with standard lighting models. We illustrate the importance of correctly rendering translucency, and show how this can be used to eliminate the traditional hard computer graphics look. Our model is described in detail in the SIGGRAPH '2001 paper: ''A Practical Model for Subsurface Light Transport''.

A detailed 3D model was created to show the 500-million dollar construction project of a 10-mile section of I-95 at the Virginia / Maryland Border, it includes four multi-level interchanges and a major bridge (Woodrow Wilson Bridge) across the Potomac River. Using AutoCAD Land evelopment and 3D Studio Max 3.1, a multi gigabyte 3D database was created to engineering accuracy. My first stop motion film. As a first film there are some problems and techniques that need working on, but it was fun to make. Plot Synopsis: A socially inept aristocrat makes enemies in a jazz club with his poor manners. When he wakes once again, acclaimed actor/thesbian Michael Doherty recruits him for a bit role in his latest experimental...

This is my entry for the brickfilms.com - contest "A peculiar Event". It's About a Door. Yes, that's it. Furthermore, it's just a low-quality-version of the film for those who aren't able to download the normal version. Here you go, guys! :-) Somehow the credits were mixed up during compression, and I realized that too late. You aren't missing much, it's just the selfish credits scrolling up. Enjoy!
