Western cultures have been steeped with visions of murder, cannabalism, infantacide and a cartoon existence of violence. Unlike the illuminating fables of the Ethiopian story teller Aesop, whose tales invoked the thinking and assessing faculty, Hans Christian Anderson, Walt Disney and a host of Western story tellers and cartoonists have portrayed tales of woe and hardship, in which violence is a usual outcome. This is reflected in the cinema and theatre. There is no celebration of life only one...

These are all the Casper The Friendly Ghost Cartoons that I had in one of my encrypted boxes. Enjoy them because some of them are very rare and very rarely seen on television. More to come. Stay tuned I have piles of them that I had recovered. This makes about 100 Gb of films uploaded by hgoodall. This is just a small portion of films in my possession.

Cinderella, 1922. Tha Laugh O Gram Studios. Don't think international conglomerates with banks of computers making highly sophisticated and realistic animation. Instead, think of a couple of cartoonists, in this case, in Kansas City who get together and start to draw simple animations of fairy stories. The drawings are simple and fluid and really a lot of fun. These cartoons needed almost a thousand laboriously drawn pictures for each minute of film. The cartoonists were Ub Iderks and Walt...

A predatory reptile makes a cute pet when it's young, but can it be fun to eat from a can instead of catching food on the hoof? And what if the owner gives up trying to care properly for it? Only really well prepared people can take care of an adult exotic pet well enough to give it a pleasant life.

Clutch Cargo, who debuted on March 9, 1959, and is remembered for exploring depth of meaning in the phrase "limited animation". Even in an era of low production values, he stood out from the crowd. The animation, if you're generous enough to call it that, was so limited, that for many, the amazing spectacle of it seems to have blotted out every other aspect of the show. Quite a few young viewers watched it less for whatever thrills it may have offered, than so they could get together...

The 17th of Fleischer's Color Classics series, which competed against Disney's Silly Symphonies. A Mae West-like duck draws the sultan of the chickens into a love triangle. Note that the Cinepack version of this file is in 512K, h.264 format, and while it offers excellent graphics, it will not be compatible with Quicktime and some other viewers. It looks great using vlc under Windows, or Xine under Linux.

This prototype house is one of a series of courthouse designs made by Mies van der Rohe in 1930's. The computer graphics film team took the original schematic design that survived on a plan drawing, achieved a derivative version by adding components similar to those found in other projects designed and built by the architect and developed a visualization utilizing radiosity-based software. The camera moves between and around the uniquely shaped elemental walls and reveals the pleasure of...

I worked on this brickfilm for about 14 months, due to a lack of time. It's about a thief getting into a base, stealing a weapon and then getting followed by another guy. The story is pointless, but I think I managed to make the crazy chase (that's why the movie is called Crase) funny. I am especially proud of the sound effects, most of them are done "by hand". I know that the lighting is bad, but I improved on the other sections like animating, editing and sound a lot. I'd really...

Capital Zoom is a seamless, cloudless, zoom-in starting from a global view zooming down to the nation's Capitol. It is composed entirely of real earth-observing satellite data. Included are IKONOS 1 meter data, Landsat7 15/30 meter data, Terra/MODIS 250 meter data, and Terra/MODIS 8 kilometer data. The visualization first zooms in seamlessly, then zooms out showing where the different data set layers reside. This vizualization was created using Maya for motion control, Renderman for rendering,...

A United Nations World Heritage site, Phimai is the site of a walled complex of reconstructed temples, libraries and ancillary structures, one of the most important Khmer monuments in Thailand. Reconstruction of the temple site in Phimai serves as a case study highlighting the potential of computer visualization as a tool in heritage resource management. Besides offering archaeologists, historians and museum curators a non-evasive environment for testing reconstruction scenarios, virtual worlds...

As was typical of adventure serials, Clutch Cargo was sent around the world on dangerous assignments. Accompanying him on the assignments were his young ward Spinner and his pet dachshund, Paddlefoot. Actress Margaret Kerry, who provided the look, style, and movement of Tinker Bell in the 1953 Walt Disney Studios production of Peter Pan, provided both the voices and lips of Spinner and Paddlefoot. Live-action footage of an airplane was used as well, specifically that of a rare 1929 Bellanca...

Experience Call Of Duty at its finest! This video is one hundred percent community made and staged. This is the first of a small mini series. During the making of the film, there was a crash and all that I had was a rough cut beta version of the first 8 minutes. Because of that a lot of the audio levels aren't tweaked, and some of the dialogue would have been re-written and re-acted (you'll see why, there's a good amount of repetition of the word "shit", and some of it is over or...

Tristan Pope is best known for movies organized around story lines, but he has also delivered several titles more focused on gameplay. "Capture the Flag" falls into the second category. Pope mixes humor and references to sport and movie cliches in depicting competition in the popular Battlegrounds instance, "Warsong Gulch," from the World of Warcraft MMO. Keep an eye out for several imaginative stunts, such as characters playing catch to warm up and an ultimately...
