An example of "serious machinima," in this case a student project using machinima to present information about the Holocaust. Directed, produced, written, narrated and edited by ExAnubisLeader (Blake Klampert). "This was a project I did for an english class. I received an A. A main reason I did this was to show that not all class projects have to be boring and we don't always have to use a poster board." -- ExAnubisLeader (Blake Klampert), via YouTube's machinima.com...

This animated short is created by the group of 9-12 years old kids with open-source software: MyPaint (drawing), Pencil (frame-by-frame animation), Synfig Studio (animation and compositing), Blender (editing), Remake (rendering). This work is published under the CC-BY license. I'm looking for someone who can offer me webspace to upload the full sources of this animation. The sources will be released under the same free license (CC-BY). The size of the sources are around 300Mb (without rendering...

"The French Democracy," released mere weeks after the release of Lionhead's "The Movies," gives evidence for the potential of game movies as commentaries on current events. Inspired by the recent riots in the Parisian suburbs, this movie tells several stories about the victimization of French minority groups through harassment, job discrimination, and daily events and depicts circumstancs that make them feel like second-class citizens. Implicitly, this movie attempts to...

Conceived as a critique of traditional architectural ''flythroughs'' and perhaps a glimpse into the future of online environments, this short film documents the investigation of an abandoned house from multiple points of view. The ''handheld'' camera movement was accomplished through four layers of motion capture data via the mouse. The house was designed and modeled in form-Z, animation in 3ds max, and rendering in mental ray. AfterEffects and Combustion were used for compositing and graphics.
