This one should start some arguments! We all know that the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer character is NOT PD, even though IA has a copy of the revised cartoon of that name, with the famous song added. Superman, the Shadow, Dick Tracy and the Lone Ranger are just a few other characters on here that are trademarked, but still appear in PD video. And we know that Rankin & Bass made a stop-motion animation of Rudolph in 1964, with an invalid copyright notice claiming copyright from the year...

I FINALLY FOUND THE FUCKING CARTOON, YA HAPPY?! Description: A little girl is eating too many snacks when she doesn't realize that it is her bedtime. Then the Sandman comes out of nowhere and, sure enough, the girl falls asleep in the blink of an eye. Just then, she has a dream that she is in Toyland, where she encounters all kinds of fairy tale characters. They sing her a welcome song and then meet a friendly toy soldier for the first time while marching in a Toyland parade. Just then, they...

The best stop-motion film ever made, IMO. Actually, one of the best short films ever made! There are two other versions of this film in the archive, but one is missing about 6 minutes and one is missing the soundtrack. I've fixed some editing mistakes and synch problems that have crept into the various editions over the years and posted the complete version of this amazing film. Starewicz had become a master animator by 1933, incorporating techniques never used before and rarely since (such as...

The Booze Hangs High released in 1930, is the fourth title in the Looney Tunes series and features Bosko, Warner Bros.' first cartoon character. When this cartoon aired on Nickelodeon, the part where the father pig regurgitates a corncob, flicks off the one kernel that remains on it, and puts it back into his stomach through a trapdoor was cut. This cartoon references Plane Crazy (a Mickey Mouse cartoon) and Song of the Flame (a musical operetta film). The latter features a song titled The...

An early Porky war cartoon, with Porky as a doughboy in World War I. This one also has Beans, an early character who was in a few shorts, but didn't pan out as well as they probably wanted him to at Termite Terrace. Decent cartoon, moves fairly fast with very good animation.

Bosko, an officer of the mounted police, gets assigned the job of bringing in a wanted criminal. He must face the harsh winter weather to bring him in. Traveling to the local saloon in search of the criminal, he starts playing the piano, which ends up seeming like a much better idea to him. However, he soon gets back hot on the trail. In this pre-Code cartoon, the criminal gets a sword up his behind (ouch!) and ends up running out of the saloon buck-naked. Snow is depicted "falling"...

Trivia This cartoon (along with other "Hook" cartoons) was found by accident in the garage of a former soldier who had saved them, thinking they were "Private Snafu" shorts. The cartoon was finally discovered in the mid-1990s when an A&E documentary on war cartoons began production. It turned out that Warners made these shorts for the US Navy and because they wanted to keep this a secret, all original negatives were destroyed shortly after release. The "Hook"...

After adding and taking a things away from the script it had the twist or two neaded to enter the contest.
