THE BRAVE TIN SOLDIER very closely follows the original story by the Brothers Grimm. A one-legged tin soldier is cruelly mocked by other toys because of his deformity. The soldier falls in love with a toy ballerina who is desired by the toy king. The king exercises his military power to get the girl for himself. The tale ends tragically, with a surprisingly graphic execution by firing squad. This is probably too violent and weird for little kids. The cartoon itself is very nicely animated,...

The following concise, informative description was taken from http://en.wikipedia.org: Flip the Frog was Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's first sound cartoon. It is about a happy-go-lucky, needy frog, named Flip the Frog. This cartoon was created by Ub Iwerks in 1930. He had drawn a frog and his girlfriend in "Night'", one of the last Silly Symphonies short films he drew while working for Walt Disney. After leaving Disney, Ub Iwerks began the Flip cartoon series with the help of Pat Powers. The...

An innocent FLIP THE FROG cartoon. No hate speech , no phony news, no racist bullcrap of any  kind . If you wish to engage in such activity see your doctor immediately , as this behavior is not tolerated by the Bill Sprague Collection and should not be tolerated by anyone. Your doctor will supply you with enough laxatives and sedatives to take at bedtime together. You have eaten 4 meals today including four cans of baked beans and 50 hot dogs. There will be a huge mess in your bed in the...

The first Mickey Mouse cartoon ever produced, and the fourth one published. It was originally silent, but like "The Gallopin' Gaucho," it failed to impress test audiences.

Jack Frost arrives in the forest, painting the leaves on the trees, pumpkins and anything else and warning the animals to prepare for the winter. An inquisitive young grizzly bear decides that he wants to see what the world looks like when everyone else is hibernating. When Old Man Winter catches him unawares, however, he needs Jack Frost's help in getting back home to his warm bed.

Merry Christmas Everyone! After taking several children's animation workshops at Canada's National Film Board, my 6 year old son and I put this very simple animation together for our friends. My son built the Lego characters, did most of the animation and played the piano for the soundtrack.

This is a fresh capture of the first Quake movie, arguably (therefore) the first example of what later came to be called Machinima.  This was captured on the occasion of the (nearly) 20th anniversary of the release of Diary of a Camper.  It was captured using WinQuake v. 1.09 at 800x600 resolution. The video records loading of the demo file (also provided here), so that the process of demo playback is visible.   For more information about this title, see the earlier upload to the Machinima...

The Rangers' "Diary of a Camper" (1996) is considered the first complete work of machinima (then known as Quake movies). Here is a snippet from my (HEL) "High-Performance Play: The Making of Machinima," which covers the early history of this medium: "Arguably the most famous clan of all, the Rangers’ top-notch players contributed visibly to the technical community that grew around the game. They had participated in the first pre-release test of the Quake engine...

This is a banned Talespin cartoon from my collection of banned and censored cartoons. When a group of people work to ban a certain media then part of their heritage is lost as a result. Many types of media I do not agree with, but I do not complain to have it banned. Remember the Soviet Union. They had to basically relearn their own history by going back to books written before the revolution. England knew nothing about their greatest heroes until the French occupation.
