Another relic from the KSAN archives, here is a concert at the Avalon Ballroom in January 1967 featuring The Charlatans (with Dan Hicks), The Sparrow (pre-Steppenwolf) & Moby Grape. This concert was put on by the Family Dog and broadcast at a later date on KSAN 95 FM in San Francisco. These recordings circulated among tape traders for years as KSAN broadcasts, which seemed odd, as KSAN only started broadcasting rock music in 1968. I researched it and found the answer: In 1972, "Bill (Graham) spent almost all of 72 hours at KSAN" playing tapes of live shows from his concert venues, going back to 1966.
