Exhibition was to have opened May 24, 1910, but due to the death of King Edward VII the Festival was cancelled and the exhibition was held at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool

In 1909, two exhibitions were held numbered 30th and 31st. From 1910 to 1929, the exhibitions were annual and were numbered consecutively. In 1930, the number 51st was repeated in order that the number of each exhibition thereafter would correspond with the year in the society's history.
