An episode of the soap opera "The Edge of Night". Unusually well-directed for a late-1950s soapy, with some interesting camera angles. The print is obviously very beat-up, and possibly incomplete (though even back in the 1950s, daytime series had less minutes of actual show than prime-time series). The popular series aired from 1956 to 1984, but most of the pre-1978 episodes are lost. Please check your attic.

An episode of popular soap opera "The Edge of Night". While this episode contains the original commercials, the episode itself is incomplete (look carefully and you'll figure out where the missing sections were). If you upload this to YouTube, please make it clear that this is an incomplete episode. Also, please note that most 1950s/1960s era episodes of this series are lost. In fact the series continued to be wiped into 1978. Please check your attic.

An episode of "The Steve Allen Show", a variety show aired in prime-time on NBC. This copy is complete with the original commercials. Highlights include Don Adams doing a comedy routine, Errol Flynn doing a parody of "To Tell the Truth" and Martha Raye doing a spoof of "Your Hit Parade". Note: black-and-white copy of color/colour broadcast (no colour tapes survive from that period). Audio sync is imperfect at times.

In this pilot, a panel is shown a short film about a crime, and then has to guess who the guilty person is. Features Groucho Marx as one of the panel members.

An unsold pilot for a proposed series titled "The Jane Powell Show". This would have been a sitcom about a singer who marries a a math professor (played by Russell Johnson) and has to adapt to small-town life.

An episode of the western TV series. Unfortunately, the copy on the disc was missing part of the closing credits (I even checked to make sure it wasn't a bad rip...on the disc, they fade out prematurely).

Probably 1968? This is an episode of a silly 1960s game show where female contestants try to find the man of their dreams by asking three men a series of questions. As an added bonus there are the original commercials, one of which features Betty White! This show isn't bad for what it is. Unfortunately the picture quality isn't very good.

More cold-war fun in this episode of Edward R. Murrow's "See It Now" series. The first segment is an interview with presidential candidate Dwight D. Eisenhower, followed by a segment showing a simulated attack on the Empire State Building. No commercials, not because they were removed or never existed, but because they....

An episode of Rosemary Clooney's filmed variety show. In this 1957 episode, Boris Karloff is very charming, and even does a duet with Clooney. This commercial is complete with the original commercials for dairy products.

An episode of the late-1950s variety series "The Big Party". Each episode was a whopping 90 minutes. In this episode, Rock Hudson throws a party, his guests include the multi-talented Sammy Davis Jr. (is there anything he can't do?), Tallulah Bankhead, an under-used Esther Williams, a surprising (by 1959 TV standards) Mort Sahl, and other celebrities. Barbara Britton is also around to give us lots of Revlon commercials, and was the only recurring cast member in the short-lived series.

An episode of NBC's popular game show "Concentration". Complete with original commercials. Since this is a daytime show, it features more ads than a prime-time show of the period.

With Barbara Whiting as the guest. This is a sitcom/variety show, with lots of jokes about Jimmy Durante's nose. Features the original commercials for Old Gold cigarettes.

An episode of Kate Smith's hour-long live variety series, with a mix of music, dancing and comedy. Guests included some country music acts (among them Hank Williams), and a comedy act called "Ethel and Albert". Contains the original commercials. Unfortunately my usual DVD ripper wouldn't rip this properly, so I had to use a different ripper, which is inferior.

A 1956 episode of Rosemary Clooney's half-hour pop music show. This episode features Dani Crayne (who doesn't do much) & Joe Bushkin. Unfortunately, this copy has several watermarks which I cannot remove, and is missing the closing credits.

An episode of Rosemary Clooney's pop music show. Guy Mitchell is the guest in this episode. IMDb provides a broadcast date (23 October 1956) but as a syndicated show this actually varied from city to city, for example in New York City, it aired 17 November 1956, while in Philadelphia it aired on 13 December 1956. The series was syndicated overseas, for example this episode aired in Montreal Canada on 8 May 1958, while in Melbourne Australia it aired 5 January 1958, while in Sydney Australia it...

Performances of Cole Porter songs, broadcast 6 October 1956 on CBS. Please note that this copy is incomplete, and for some reason parts of the broadcast are shown twice (this happens at 27:22, for example). Please note that, while originally in colour, only a black-and-white version survives today.

An episode of the popular anthology series "Four Star Playhouse". This episode stars David Niven as a man who refuses to have his kids go to regular school. It is a comedy-drama episode. I'd watch Niven in anything. He's always fun to watch. This episode aired on 7 October 1954 at 9:30 on most CBS stations. For example, in New York City this aired on WCBS, aired against "Ford Television Theater" on WNBT, a film ("The Courageous Mr. Penn") on WABD, "Kraft...

Popular half-hour anthology series of the 1950s. This episode stars Charles Boyer and Paula Raymond.
