Italian pianist Domenico Codispoti performs selections from one hundred years of Romanticism. Enjoy the works of famous composers.

Born in Catanzaro, Italy, in 1975, Codispodi was awarded First Prize at the 1996 International Piano Competition in Pinerolo Italy. In 2001, he won First Prizes at the prestigious Pilar Bayona International Competition in Zaragoza (Spain) and the Ferrol International Piano Competition. He was awarded Second Prize in the International Premio Jaen with the Special Prize for Best Performance of Spanish Music.

Under the tutelage of Bruno Mezzena, Codispoti graduated with First Class Honors from the Conservatory and the Accademia Musicale of Pescara. He is a recipient of the Joel Estes Tate Scholarship at Southern Methodist University, studying with Joaquin Achucarro. His busy recital tours have included Europe, America and Asia where audiences and critics alike have been captivated by the warmth, elegance and sensitivity that is brought to his recitals. Enrique Franco of El Pais of Madrid declares, “Listening to Codispoti interpret one of Rachmaninov´s Etudes op.39 and Chopin´s brilliant Polonaise-Fantaisie was more than just a simple performance, it was an intimate and artistic experience.”

Codispoti’s concert appearances include performances with Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Brno Philharmonic, Filarmonica Italiana, Iceland Symphony, Sinfonica de Galicia, and Warsaw Radio Symphony Orchestra under conductors such as Daniele Agiman, Rumon Gamba, Kirill Karabits, Tomas Koutnik, Andrzej Straszynsky and Christopher Warren-Green.

Outside his busy concert schedule, Codispoti coaches regularly at the Opera Department of SMU, and actively participates in the Van Cliburn Foundation's Musical Awakening, as well as in the Gina Bachauer Foundation's educational program in Utah.

In recent years, he has regularly given master classes in conservatories throughout Europe and America, as well as being on the faculty at the International University of Andalucia in Baeza, Spain.
