Modest murder mystery.
A straying husband is sure he murdered his wife, then starts seeing things and questions his own sanity. The thin plot prevents this from being top-flight, but it's still well done in an unassuming way. Reliable Bogart, good Smith and Greenstreet

Excellent film!
Well written , extremely well acted , well directed and its a pretty decent copy too. What more could you ask for. No spoilers from me but this is a suspenseful film. Yes, even if you know what's coming it still will keep you watching.
If you need anymore convincing, just think Bogart/Greenstreet. Nuff said.
As an aside, I love these old 30's/40's movies. The fashions, the cars, the buildings ..... I soak them in like sunshine on a beach. Yes, even the overwrought style of acting that was so popular back then. lol.
5 stars only because I can't give it 6
