The EP consists of one long piece which experimented with using un-named classical pieces as it's source material (taken from old reel to reel tapes that my late father had made years ago). Started sometime last year it remained unfinished until February 2012. Noise Research - editing, cut ups, sound layering Artwork - Ian Simpson (copyright 2012) http://electronicmusik.wordpress.com/

EP from Pangea on the Electronic Musik label. Pangea works with harsh sounds giving it a floating and hypnotic sense. The collaborative nature of spanish composer Juan Antonio Nieto has taken him into different journeys. What happens when the continental drift process suffers inversion? The union of intangible terrains is becoming more clear each second. At this point, we know that language is truly unstable and absolutely turbulent. We would like to be in control and arrest this flux of events...

This is a selection from the recent releases from Electronc Musik. It does contain a new (March 2011) exclusive track from Noise Research. It's a radical reworking of the track '4th from the Left' which has now become 'Third from the Left'. The music was chosen by selecting the thrid track from each respective release, hence all can be classed as 'track 3'. The sampler is a great example of the wonderful roster of artists on this label. Live recording from Thee Moths . Recorded on the 18th June 2011 at The Lighthouse, Wolverhampton, UK. I was lucky enought to witness this amazing perfomance 1st hand and hence requested Alex release it with the label. First Actions Thee Moths formed as a fuzzy guitar pop band in 2000, initially as a quintet with former members of Alex's old band Magnetic North Pole. That then slimmed to a trio and then down to a duo. The duo version (Alex and Dominique Ferraton) recorded the first two albums...

Noise Club - The Moebius Trip The Moebius Trip is Noise Club's first full-length album. It represents the culmination of their artistic development with a sound world that is entirely their own. The album envisages entire worlds, built through sound colour: a symphony for the modern age. In mathematics, the Moebius strip is a surface with only one side and one boudary line. It sounds impossible, yet the reality is so simple: take a strip of paper, twist it half way around and connect the two...

EP from UK based sound artist / composer Noise Research (aka Ian Simpson) Created using a traditional 'Musique Concrete' approach but using digital tools and source material as opposed to tape and a razor blade. Artwork copyright 2013 by Ian Simpson This is the first release since my Mum passed away and consequently is dedicated to her. Paul Green Imagine Kraftwerk if someone spiked their punch with absinthe, and you're halfway there. Paul Green is the controller of a synthetic orchestra of beautifully fluid deeply-layered dark twisting electronic keyboard sounds with a laptop and Tenori-On that make beautiful arppegiated synth sounds and the kind of low tempo clicks and glitches that remind me of walking around an old house when you were a kid and getting a bit scared by the creaky staircases. There are noises like a lazy...
