This is a development build of Finnix, produced in 2017 in the gap between 2015's NEALE-based Finnix 111 release and 2020's live-build-based Finnix 120. Much of Finnix's components were completely bespoke (NEALE build system, custom initrd, custom runit-based userland boot), and the stagnation led to a 5 year gap between releases, when the base was changed to Debian's live-build system. This 2017 build was an attempt to modernize the Finnix build and runtime components, but was not near release quality at the time.
Userland boot is provided by systemd. This is mostly functional, but doesn't display any userland boot progress.
Only an amd64 kernel is provided; previous releases provided both amd64 and i586 kernels. The kernel is an unmodified Debian 4.9.0-2-amd64 kernel.
The boot menu's "FreeDOS (Balder)" menu item boots into FreeDOS 1.2's installer image, instead of Balder (a live floppy based on FreeDOS 1.0).
Bootloader is BIOS (isolinux) only like previous releases, but mentions UEFI (grub) configurations.
Development codename is Muskego, build time is 2017-05-04 02:51:52 UTC.
This image was found on a testing VM server, and was likely the last NEALE build.
