Loved the reference, but somehow felt incomplete
This is my first Ntozake Shange book, due to the stage choreopoem it took me time to understand what was happening and to get into the groove.
At first I wasn't comfortable in reading short words like 'cd' for could and others and took me time to read and re-read sentences, paragraphs..
Some pages were torn, and I couldn't read them properly.
Though I loved the background of what author want's us to know, but still this happens with "Every" girl/women and not limited to "colored" girls any more....
We all need to look at our side of rainbow and enjoy life, rather than considering why the rain came.

Incomplete and damaged scan
This edition is incomplete, missing "positive," and a number of pages are ripped, obscuring lines and in a few cases the pages are repeated.
