In 1989 a "homosexual prostitution scandal" that rocked Washington, DC in June 1989 amounted to nothing much as far as revealing high-level government officials caught in the probe, or, in fact, mattering much to those living outside the beltway bubble of self-importance. Here is the article that broke the 'news' and the AP, Deseret News (Utah), and Chicago Tribune articles at the time, a 2005 look-back article from Looking Glass News, and a hate article printed in 2018 in the white-supremacist rag, National Vanguard.  This story remains important to this day because of this last article - penned almost 3 decades later, it is a right-wing homophobic, white supremacist's writings about the scandal and the steps needed to eliminate the 'problem' of homosexuality. Hate is un-American and the author and other's like him have no place in this country -  you get rid of a tiny cancer before it becomes a bigger problem; you do not wait and see what will happen.
