1938 promotional film for General Electric's and Union Pacific's experimental electric steam-turbine locomotives. Only two units were built, and the project was canceled and ultimately deemed a failure after it became clear that diesel-electric locomotives were more efficient, easier and cheaper to maintain, and more reliable.
Was ripped from VHS tape. I couldn't find any other archives of this online and seems to be pretty obscure, but a higher quality version may exist on the "Union Pacific's Mighty Turbines" DVD released by Pentrex.
