With Wolfgang Domke A man, "tied" to a table, gets drunk, eats beetroot and cream pie to be able to chuck and then during the some hours lasting process of sobering / disillusion he explains his vision of the future. DIE WELT, 12.3.69 Difficulties in articulation: In a gradual disillusionment from a drunken stupor, in dull bulls, chunking up (! In color, which was nice) and troglodytic muck the first communication sounds chuckle slowly from the speakers. The action takes place with...

With the Filmklasse Münster In 1979, the Academy of Fine Arts Münster / Germany celebrated its summer festival in the Lotharinger Straße Münster / Germany with an impressive performance of the Class of Ernst Hermanns. On this occasion I tried the newly acquired Eclair NPR 16mm and Anja Schimanski tired the new NAGRA, both devices with which the film class skipped the Super 8 tecnologie. I threw the camera in the air and in this way I was able to express my aversion to conventional film show and skip my own limits. (LUTZ MOMMARTZ) "Selfshots" is the visual biography of an unconventional filmmaker. As a director, cinematographer and actor in one person, he points the camera on himself. He plays with her , throws it into the air, hurtling across the meadows, filmed his movements, his face and his hands and demonstrates in this way his adventurous relationship with a...

MR. MOMMARTZ, PLEAS DESCRIBE YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO CINEMA? I rarely go to the cinema. I do not like Western, nor problem movies or comedies. Sometimes, out of curiosity I enter a movie theater, but then very carefully. Sometimes I'm even excited, but then I do not have an explanation. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE "JUNGE DEUTSCHE FILM"? They are old-young, they did not understand anything. HOW DID YOU STARTED? I never wanted to become a filmmaker. In 1963 I was six weeks Uganda. As an...

Bundesfilmpreis: Filmband in Silber With Ila Goldstern u. Günter Wolf. An authentic marriage dispute that looks like a play. KLAUS ULRICH REINKE, WESTDEUTSCHE KURZFILMTAGE OBERHAUSEN, REPORT, 1976 This could be the kind the absolute amateurism that we should proclaim furthermore; Amateurism as a concept, a mental substance! Because at the moment only the causalistic perfectionism is claimed as a mistake of universal consequence. This amateuristic climax in the form of "As if it was a...

"Black / White" begins with a series of 200 frames flickering in a 25tel seconds rhythm, alternately black and white, before it slows down continuously to a 1.25tel rhythm. After 10 seconds it reaches 125 images = 5 seconds and ends white as a metaphor for theoretically infinite.

Gustaf Gründgens (Off), Peter Rübsam (Sculptor, On), Ingrid Lutz and Jürgen Kuhfuß (Sound) The film is a late payoff with a Genius, who took his job more important as the politics that led to total destruction. Actually only Alexander Kluge makes similarly complex, allusive films like Lutz Mommartz, although he always demands a much higher social- and world-entitlement. Mommartz himself remains modest. Here we have only Gustaf Gründgens and the emergence of the monument of Peter Rübsam...
