Human Desire is a 1954 black-and-white film noir directed by Fritz Lang and starring Glenn Ford, Gloria Grahame and Broderick Crawford. It is loosely based on Émile Zola's novel La Bête humaine. The story had been filmed twice before: La Bête humaine (1938) directed by Jean Renoir and Die Bestie im Menschen starring Ilka Grüning (1920).

five stars
This review needs at lest one full stars comment. Just watch it. Everything is part of the best movies you can ever see. And Gloria Graham (also in "The Big Heat", by Fritz Lang too) is wonderful.

The real star is the Alco P-series diesel electric locomotive. The only work of art in the film.

Shocking and little confusing
This movie is sad but it had a surprising ending.I never knew what was gonna happen or come next. So I liked it for that reason but because its a sad movie is why I rated it so low. Also I may have changed the ending as well but that just my opinion.
