Description: News footage from KOVR-TV in Sacramento covering the Zodiac killings of the late 1960s. Seen are detective David Toschi along with attorney Melvin Belli and surviving Lake Berryessa victim Bryan Hartnell at KGO studios. A man claiming to be the Zodiac demanded he appear on the local program A.M. San Francisco. When the man called in he asked to be called "Sam" but when Belli agreed to meet with him in Daly City the suspect never showed up. Hartnell, after listening to recordings of the conversation, said that that the man who called in did not sound like the man who attacked him.

The Zodiac Killer or Zodiac was a serial killer who operated in Northern California from the late 1960's to the early 1970's. The killer's identity remains unknown. The Zodiac murdered people in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969.
