Melodic Praise Records of Omaha, Nebraska introduces Beverly Thompson, and her new CD "Ready to Learn". Beverly received national air play with the single releases "Woman of God" and "How I Love Jesus" from her first album in 1996. She is regarded by gospel announcers of the GMWA national organization as the next rising star in the gospel field of music.

Beverly's musical talent is very diverse. It has been said that her best styles are traditional and gospel jazz, but this album also proves that she is quite proficient in contemporary gospel, country gospel, and prayer & praise. Beverly Thompson is truly multi-talented and gifted.

Some of Beverly's many accomplishments include being crowned a former Miss Black Nebraska, and serving as a former lead singer for the Sounds of Blackness. Ms. Thompson is well received by the Gospel Announcer's Guild of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, and has been featured in Gospel Today Magazine. She has performed for state, regional, and national audiences, including Omaha area theatrical plays and musicals, the Bobby Jones Gospel Explosion, the Texas, Minnesota, and Chicago Area Announcer's Guild, and a special tribute to O'landa Draper at a recent Stellar Awards reception.

Ms. Thompson is the mother of four children, and three beautiful grandchildren. She is married to Dr. Franklin Thompson, an educator who is also her producer. She currently works as a Human Resource Specialist for a nationally known hotel chain. Although not unhappy with her job, she looks forward to the day when she can devote full-time to the music ministry. Beverly is waiting on your call! In addition to serving on the Governor's Council for the Visually Impaired, Beverly also devotes much time to missionary work out in the community.

Ready to learn is an "infectious mixture of jazz, contemporary, traditional, and inspirational genres of music. The album has 12 cuts of which 7-8 have Billboard Top 100 appeal. Beverly is a strong performer and witness for the Lord, backed by a talented crew of musicians, singers writers. Her desire is to go into the music ministry full time.
