Hey Junkies, let's face it, between massive heatwaves, double-digit inflation and COVID roaring back, this summer has sucked. As such, we don't think we could handle the depression of Ghoul Summer this year. So, once again we've decided to flip the script and bask in the positivity of
Star Trek for another
Summer of Spock! This year we're joined by long-time friend of the show and life-long Trekker
Christopher Olvis to break down three Trek tales.
Up first, William Shatner directs the fifth entry into the Star Trek cinematic universe where the crew meet Spock's long-lost half-brother, face their own demons and take on a God-like alien in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier from 1989.
Next, when the Klingons are at their lowest, the crew tries to broker peace, but their peace mission is sabotaged and Kirk and McCoy are framed and taken prisoner in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country from 1991.
Finally, we pass the baton from the original cast to the cast of The Next Generation in Star Trek: Generations from 1994 where Captain Kirk and Captain Picard have to team up to keep Malcolm McDowell from fucking up the space-time continuum.
All this plus Kevin's adventures on the East Coast, what's hot in Columbus, Ohio, our reactions to the new Munsters trailer, blu-rays about Aztec Mummies and so much more.
