Partial logbook of a whaling voyage to the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans in addition to the Bering Sea. Includes descriptions of accidents, a
collision at sea, injuries, and desertions. Also contains illustrations
of whale tails. The keeper makes several references to food and
provisions throughout the log. One man was injured as a result of a fall
on 2 May 1856. The vessel struck a reef on 3 April 1857 and sustained
damage as a result. Other places represented include Desolacion Island
(Chile), Espanola Island (Galapagos Islands), Iony Island (Russia),
Academy Bay (Russia), Potter's Bay (Russia), and Alaid Island (Russia).
Whaling grounds include the Offshore, Okhotsk Sea, and the Coast of
Kamchatka grounds
