Based on a series of true stories posted on the internet, My
Sassy Girl (2001) describes the meeting between Kyun-woo (Cha Tae hyun) and an
unnamed girl (Jeon Ji-hyun).
Following a strange encounter on the subway, Kyun-woo is
shamed into assisting the girl because the other passengers mistakenly think
that she is his girlfriend. Once he helps her, Kyun-woo develops a deep sense
of responsibility towards the girl which enables him to (somehow) tolerate her
abuses.
One of the best romantic comedies to come out of Korea, My Sassy Girl has been a wide success in
both Japan and Hong Kong, and has even inspired many remakes and sequels
the world over.
The greatest of effort has gone into ensuring that the
English fan dub of My Sassy Girl is as faithful to the original as possible. I
hope that other fans of this film enjoy the finished product as much as I did
creating it.
