Journal of a whaling voyage to the Atlantic, Indian, and South Pacific
Oceans. Includes descriptions of whales seen and taken, accidents at
sea, a death at sea, punishments, and rescues. Also contains crew list,
list of deserters, and inventories of oil and bone. The keeper also
notes a lunar eclipse, the distribution of tracts and Bibles onboard,
forming an anti-swearing society, and written descriptions of battles
with right and sperm whales. Whaling grounds include the Western
Islands, Crozet Islands, and Middle grounds.
