OpenAMQ (website; wikidot) is an implementation of the original AMQP protocol, developed by iMatix Corporation It was the reference implementation for the original (pre-1.0) AMQ Protocol; the AMQP 1.0 protocol diverged considerably from this original design.

iMatix Corporation developed OpenAMQ from 2004 to 2009. The development history can be found on the iMatix GitHub page. This collection contains the original OpenAMQ source release archives, as they were originally released (mostly in zip and tar.gz formats).

After OpenAMQ, some of the developers went on to create ZeroMQ (GitHub page), influenced by their OpenAMQ experience.
