The nine-minute piece was almost entirely improvised, building on the audiences suggestion of "film festival" as the pieces theme, and demonstrates the remarkable skill of the performers in working with a limited set of pre-rendered animations and gestures. This piece of live machinima exemplifies what makes machinima truly distinct from traditional forms of animationits sense of temporal...

His examples include the story of New Coke and how Coke's market research misled them, and the development of Herman-Miller's Aeron chair, the best-selling chair in the history of office chairs, which succeeded in spite of research that suggested it would fail. Shadows of Forgotten Dimensions Several themes seem to have emerged, apparently without premeditation, from my paintings of the past 10 years. Kokopelli, corn plants, morning-glory vines, star-filled keyholes, comets, saturns, snakes shaped like infinity. Most of this accretion of icons ends up painted on my shoes or crystallized in Fimo. This keyhole turned out to be a sketch for a more ambitious enterprise, the dimensional doorway (182K), at http://www.rheingold.com/art/door.html
