This game is a very large adult parody of Pokemon. This archive contains the game, level editor, the game's source code, and all design documents. The game was only partially completed and includes Pallet Town, Viridian, Pewter, Cerulean, Vermillion City, and the St Anne.
History
This project started out as a personal project back in 2009. The basic idea came from a drawing by someone called NeoNeko.
Most of the game's programming only took about 2 months. After uploading a demo on my FurAffinity page, I quickly realized that it would be very slow and tedious to recompile the entire game every time I wanted to test a new scene. That motivated me create my own RPG Maker for Flash, so that I could edit separate level files without needing to wait 5 minutes to compile the game's code. I was already considering making an RPG Maker at the time, but this need gave me the push to actually attempt it. So I put Pokemon on hold for about a year while I created the RPG Maker.
In those days forums were often created by fans or creators of various popular adult Flash games, allowing people to collborate and mod those games. Shortly after finishing my RPG Maker, I uploaded my Pokemon game to ToonPimp's forum in 2010. I also noticed most of my games being shared on the "Unnoficial LineMarvel Forums" so I started posting updates there as well. And somebody invited me to join the Project X forums a few years later in 2014.
It was also suggested that I invite artists on the forums to contribute art to help me with my Pokemon game, so I created this post in 2010.
A couple years passed and in early 2012, a particularly enthusiastic artist called Bubba91 sent me a message on the LineMarvel forums along with a bunch of pokemon art he created. We collaborated through private messages for about half the year, with a couple other artists contacting me as well. The ImageShack links tended to go down often so we soon started using Dropbox, MediaFire, and MSN messenger. Meanwhile, my post on the Legend of Krystal forums had gained a following, so after a few months we all just collaborated there instead. Legend of Krystal became the primary home of this project from that point on.
This also allowed me to list all the art submissions with Dropbox links in a single forum post that everybody could easily see, and I could update that post any time. After a couple years I hit the limit on how long a single forum post could be, so I created websites to keep track of the art. We also ran some polls to vote on which pokemon art to use since people would often draw the same pokemon.
I mostly worked on the level-building and dialog of the games and colored most of the artwork to give the various drawings a somewhat similar visual style. But over the years, game updates became less and less frequent. A promotion at my day-job had given me full-time employment, but also drastically reduced my free time and energy. In 2019 I decided to discontinue this game, since it seemed unrealistic to tell people I was going to work on it. I still maintain download links to an alpha version of this game on my website. But those links are not guaranteed to work since they're uploaded automatically each week.
This version I have uploaded to archive.org has been tested (briefly) and appears to work.
Secret Debug Battle Menu
I don't think I ever told anybody about this, but there's a secret menu you can open when you're in battle.
Highlight the "Fight" command and press Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar to open a debug menu that allows you to choose which attack you and the opponent use for the next turn. You'll need to type in the name of the attacks in lowercase. If you type in an attack that doesn't exist, that character simply does nothing during their turn.
Here's a list of every attack in the game, and what they do.

Update 1
It's possible I uploaded a slightly older version of the game (Jan 29, 2016) that had a glitch where teleporting to a map with water would cause the player to walk on top of the water instead of swimming. I fixed that bug a few days later on Jan 31, 2016.

Update 2
Apparently the game was freezing after Squirtle joins your party, so I updated that level file to avoid this problem. I also noticed that the updated pokemon-game-only . zip I uploaded before was corrupted so I have re-uploaded that as well. The corrected level has been included in that ZIP file so everything should work fine.
I just updated the pokemon-game-only . zip file.
