LibriVox recording of Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen. Read by Elizabeth Klett.
Pride and Prejudice is Jane Austen's classic comic romance, in which the five Bennett sisters try to find that most elusive creature: a single man in possession of a large fortune. Sparks fly when sweet, pretty Jane meets their new neighbor, Mr. Bingley, but her sister Elizabeth is most offended by his haughty friend, Mr. Darcy. This is Austen at the height of her powers: the ironic narration, hilariously drawn supporting characters, and romantic suspense make this her most enduringly popular novel. (Summary by Elizabeth Klett)

After trying some of the most popular (in terms of views) audiobooks from librivox i was sceptical. The idea itself seemed great, but the quality of the audio and the reading were poor.
I started to dig deeper and it finds out, that there are some readers that do not come short compared to professional readers. Elizabeth Klett is one of them.
Great audio quality, amazing reading - articulation and personification on professional level.
I was under an impression that the reader is a fan of this book, had read it many times and can cite large parts from memory. Every character was delivered with deep understanding of this character's personality.
Well deserved 5 / 5 stars

Thank you for taking on such a project. You do great justice to Jane Austin by reading!!! The characters come to life by your excellent reading!
I see that you have read many books. I WILL be listening to more of your work! THANKS again, Elizabeth. I love to read but with injury, it is sometimes difficult for me to read. Your reading is better than seeing a movie!!!!!

I'd heard that Pride and Prejudice is a great book.
So I downloaded it expecting average LibriVox recording quality. But it turned out to be otherwise.
The recording is marvelous, the reason I was able to finish the book. You can feel grasp as much from the words as you do from the sound of each of the characters. The quality is same as you would expect on a "bought" audiobook.
I've been downloading more recordings by Ms. Klett once I finished listening. I wish she did textbooks. :'(

Loved this reading by Elizabeth Klett. Listening to Elizabeth, I picked up a lot of subtleties in the text that I never got when I read the book myself.
I think the American / British accents worked wonderfully.
A complete list of Elizabeth's Librivox recordings can be found here. Elizabeth has read most (if not all) of Austin's works as solo projects.

Thank you, reader Elizabeth ____(?)! Superb effort and result! Full marks all round... Accents, tempo, enunciation, emotion, character variation, consistency... all are spot on. More than just talent, your reading evinces a great deal of thoughful preparation in considering the meaning and emotion of each character's lines, consistent in quality throughout the book.
We in the "audience" on this site have discussed other talented readers of Pride and Prejudice, and we have had a very talented woman read at what many consider great talent but a pace too quick for ease and appreciation. Here, we are treated to an amazing talent, reading at a more considered pace. For those who, as I, like to savor the art of the well-read piece, this is welcome indeed.
One cannot say too much of the reader's talent and care. She narrates with an American accent yet, to my ear, nails the dialog with perfect expression, tempo, and accent. What say you, BE natives? Given that talent, why her decision to narrator in AE? Not sure but it works for me either way. It certainly does help us quickly distinguish (as could a reader of the book itself) when the piece is changing from narration to dialog. I like to think our reader had this effect in mind.
One suggestion, if I may. The microphone was not properly protected by a “pop screen”. I encourage all readers to use such a device between the reader and the microphone. It reduces sibilant sounds made through speaking words with 's' and 'ch', as is the case here. It is not so annoying here as with many other readings but it is a bit detrimental to so wonderful a rendition.
