Psychological Medicine is an active peer-reviewed academic journal published 16 times a year by Cambridge University Press. Launched in 1970 by renowned British psychiatrist and founding-editor Michael Shepherd (1923–1995), it publishes research in clinical psychiatry, psychology and the related basic sciences.
Each issue features original articles that report on the latest developments in the field, as well as associated aspects of biological, psychological and social sciences. It also contains review papers, editorials and letters to the Editor concerning published papers, along with reviews of new literature relevant to the field of study.
