Rapidgrass is great, was my first time seeing them live. This was a 10am set and the boys delivered.
My mics were mounted on a beam about 15 beet back from the stage and about 12 feet high. Not the ideal spot in retrospect but it worked well enough to add some ambiance and crowd to an excellent board feed.
I'll be upping their noontime set from another venue eventually.

Nice pull Billy. I know the mandolin player Alex from the Spring Creek Bluegrass Band days. Really happy to hear how well he is doing in his new band. This recording is one of the cleanest i've heard in awhile. I know how the Durango Meltdown can be a perfect venue for clean recordings with the intimate performance sites and respectful crowds. I was a student at FLC 20 years ago and volunteered stage setup for the first Meltdown. I gave a fat, arrogant 14 year old mandolin prodigy his first Leftover Salmon tape at that meltdown on the steps of what used to be Farquartz Pizzaria. His name was Chris Thile! Ha
Anyways, this is a great matrix and fantastic listen.
