HERBS AND ACTIONS
-Ren Shen - Tonifies Lung Qi and strongly tonifies Yuan Qi. With Huang Qi, tonifies Qi and strengthens Wei Qi for Qi Deficiency with general debility, anorexia, and spontaneous sweat and Lung Qi Deficiency.
-Huang Qi - Tonifies Wei Qi, stabilizes the exterior and tonifies the Lungs.

NOTES - This formula warms without drying. This formula unblocks without causing damage. This formula has a stronger Wind relieving and pathogen expelling action than Juan Bi Tang.

-Qiang Huo - Expels Wind-Cold-Dampness, unblocks painful obstruction, alleviates pain and guides Qi to the Tai Yang and Du channels. With Du Huo, expels Wind-Cold from the exterior, dispels Dampness and alleviates pain. Qiang Huo is better for superficial Wind-Dampness and upper extremities and Du Huo is better for deeper Wind-Dampness and lower extremities. With Chuan Xiong, for headache and generalized body aches and pains associated with the common cold or painful obstruction. With Jie Geng, for skin conditions.
-Du Huo - Disperses Wind-Cold-Dampness, opens the channels and alleviates pain. With Qiang Huo, for joint pain and numbness.
-Chuan Xiong - Regulates Qi, helps Qiang Huo and Du Huo release the exterior, moves Blood, expels Wind-Cold, enhancing the pain relieving function of the formula (especially in the head and neck) and treats headaches.
-Chai Hu - Expels Wind-Heat, raises Yang Qi, and resolves Phlegm and congestion. With Bo He, releases the exterior, reduces fever, and expels the pathogenic influences, especially from the muscle layer. ACTIONS - Warms the Interior. Reinforces Yang. Releases the Exterior. Regulates the Ying and Wei.
SYNDROMES - Interior Cold due to Yang Deficiency with Wind-Cold Invasion giving rise to Cold-Type Bulging Disorder (hernia). Retention of Cold-Dampness in the Interior with Attack of Wind-Cold. Jue Yin Cold.
CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS - Abdominal pain. Cold extremities. Numb hands and feet. Generalized body aches. Paralysis of the extremities. Induration and swelling of the scrotum. Hypersalivation. Limited movement of the joints. Abdominal pain referring to the testis. Aversion to Cold. A preference for Warmth. Loose stools. Chills and fever.

-Sheng Jiang - Releases the Exterior, induces perspiration and disperses Cold. With Da Zao, for External Wind-Cold and protects the Stomach Qi and reduces irritation of the gastrointestinal tract by other herbs. With Gui Zhi, strongly induces sweating for treatment of External Wind-Cold with chills, fever, body aches and anhidrosis. with Gui Zhi and Da Zao, harmonizes the Ying and Wei to drive out pathogens.

-Du Huo - Disperses Wind-Cold-Dampness, opens the channels and alleviates pain. With Qiang Huo, for joint pain and numbness.
-Chuan Xiong - Regulates Qi, helps Qiang Huo and Du Huo release the exterior, moves Blood, expels Wind-Cold, enhancing the pain relieving function of the formula (especially in the head and neck) and treats headaches.
-Chai Hu - Expels Wind-Heat, raises Yang Qi, and resolves Phlegm and congestion.
