As a hydrology graduate student at the University of Arizona in the early 1970s, I wrote dozens of abstracts on arid lands agriculture and hydrology for Selected Water Resources through the Department of Arid Lands. The articles were provided to me in English, German and Romance Languages for me to write 200-word technical abstracts.
