Understanding 9/11Welcome to Frances K. Sweet Magnet School, home of the Loyal Lions in Fort Pierce.
Frances K. Sweet Magnet School provides a family-oriented, small-school environment. It is a traditional academic school that emphasizes academic scholarship, patriotism, and citizenship.
A strong faculty, a vibrant Parent Teacher Organization, and a host of business partners have synergized to produce a succession of shining students who are second to none. We have a strong academic program, traditional values, and an outstanding musical art program. We believe that every child has infinite possibilities for success.
The STAR Mentor Program provides academic assistance for students experiencing difficulty in reading and math. Our young Lions have over 60 volunteers mentoring students.
We are a recipient of the Annenberg/Getty Grant, Little Red School House Award and Florida Elementary Art Teacher of the Year. Our students also have the opportunity to access higher level curriculum through the Gifted Program.
Every classroom has an individual computers set-up for student use. In Technology Class students learn Internet Safety and Navigation, Presentation Tools, Desktop Publishing, and more!
Our Lions love to stay engaged. Students can take part in any of our extra curricular activities like the F.K. Sweet Sounds, where Members perform a varied repertoire of instrumental and vocal pieces; F.K. Sweet Strings where students hone their violin skills; our Guys-with-ties male mentoring group or our Morning Announcement Production Crew where students access our fully equipped television studio that provides the live “Morning Announcements Show”.
