Welcome to Lawnwood Elementary, home of the Legendary Leopards in Fort Pierce, Florida.

With over fifty years of academic excellence, Lawnwood supports a diverse community of students from Pre-K to grade five. Every student is challenged and engaged in meaningful learning experiences supported by standards-based curriculum with high expectations to ensure growth. Our dedicated administration, faculty and staff share a commitment to strive for academic success. School leaders, coaches and teachers work diligently to provide rigorous, quality instruction, which will prepare students to meet the challenges they will encounter throughout all developmental and social stages of life.

Lawnwood offers a spectrum of instructional services which include an ESE Pre-K program, Gifted Program, and enrichment LEAP program.

Lawnwood staff believe all students should be given the opportunity to learn all they can. Coaches and teachers conduct weekly data chats to develop, plan, and implement innovative lessons based on the standards and centered around the belief all students are capable of learning. Teachers use data to drive their daily small group instruction to ensure all students needs are met. Students also track their own data to set future goals with parents during Student Led Conferences.

Every classroom at Lawnwood is furnished with leveled libraries entailing over 500 books. Technology is utilized within the classrooms to expand learning and ensure students are equipped with the tools needed for future successes. The iReady program is employed to address individual student needs and monitor growth. Students are also provided opportunities beyond the standards-based curriculum such as music, physical education, media, STEAM- science lab, and SEL (Social Emotional Learning) weekly.

Lawnwood Elementary is a 5-Star school and we are proud of our Golden School Award status. At Lawnwood Elementary, we proudly support the” Kids At Hope” and “Positive Behavior Support” frameworks. Students are highly engaged and excited about our after-school tutoring programs and clubs; GEMS (Girls Excelling & Motivated to Succeed), World Drumming Club, Girls On The Run, Game Day After School Bible Club, Dreamers Boys Mentoring Program as well as the 21st Century programs.

Lawnwood strives for continuous improvement towards learning, building relationships and successful development of every child, every day. Our PTO (Parent- Teacher Organization) and SAC (School Advisory Council) which include parents, community members, and business partners meet monthly to discuss school improvement goals and strategies.

We at Lawnwood celebrate success every step of the way to ensure students continue to strive for behavioral and academic excellence. Students are recognized monthly for demonstrating specific character traits at the Leopard of the Month Assemblies and PBiS events for demonstrating PAWS expectations. As well as every nine weeks for their academic and social milestones.
