In November, 1940, the newly completed Tacoma Narrows Bridge, opened barely four months before, swayed and collapsed in a 42 mile-per-hour wind. There were no casualties except a dog trapped in a car stranded on the bridge. A rescue was attempted (by the man with the pipe), but the frightened animal would not leave the car. Time-lapse stock footage of clouds in a brewing rainstorm (that never materialized, unfortunately), captured on April 1, 2006. Two versions of the footage are provided -- 2.5 minutes, and one sped up to 10 seconds. Be aware that the video does have some noticeable horizontal lines. This just an artifact of the camera's CCD. The footage has been color-corrected to cut through the haze, and each frame is a blend of 10 frames, to limit the picture noise.

A long and windy movie of the Halloween party at the Alameda County Computer Resource Center's former location in Oakland. This was the 2002 party, and the two segments were filmed on two mini-VHS tapes, then transfered to digital with old equipment (Power Mac 8600) At the beginning of the second segment is the VAX jousting, which is the only truly interesting thing in this film. These images are uploaded for other people to manipulate however they see fit.

I managed to capture this time lapse the other day on my quest to film what I call "Toy Story" clouds. While I believe I got the right conditions, the interval of 1 second between shots seemed too long considering how fast the clouds were moving. I plan on taking advantage of Magic Lantern's FPS override feature next time to try to get a much more slower, fluid, dreamy like movement. I've organized the file links on my House Demolition Blog Entry . There are Windows Media files at x04 , x16 and x64 . A QuickTime / MPEG-4 copy is available at x04 . Stay away from the AVCHD (.MTS) files unless you need the raw footage, and are sure you can edit with AVCHD video . The raw footage is 15.2 GB total!
