Experimental death film with death footage and experimental films.

The first part of the film is about the process of death and decomposition. Parts from this segment would be used in Traces of Death.

The next part covers suicide and shows footage of a young man lifting a woman who had bled herself to death out of a bloody water-filled bathtub.

We are then shown photos and audio recording from the Jonestown mass suicide.

A faked drowning torture tape is then shown, supposedly from Amnesty International.

There is a segment on animal experimentation that shows an experiment on a cat, a pig being burned in a burn experiment, and a dead cat getting its brain removed and the cranial cavity stuffed with cotton and sewn back up.

Then there is a segment on AIDS followed by autopsy footage. Some of the autopsy footage comes from the military training film Basic Autopsy Procedure.

The next segment is on Adolf Hitler and the Nazis.

The penultimate segment covers nuclear war and the aftermath of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings.

The final segment shows clips from military films on treating burn victims, mainly from the 1969 film Special Eye Care and the Management Of Burns series by the Department of Defense. 

The film ends with footage of a graveyard including areas devoted to children and babies.

The footage of the pig getting burned with a blowtorch was edited into the 1993 shockumentary film Traces Of Death.

It has one sequel: True Gore 2: Empire of Madness (Released 1989)

Also contains clips from the 1953 educational film A Is For Atom.
