Subject: Not sure if this is actually the Selinas gig.
Subject: Average Sound, Incomplete Recording of a Shortened Show
So, instead of having a recording from one of those larger festival performances where the band played to a crowd of thousands, all we have is this recording from an inbetween date that the band played in a small club in Sydney, their final gig in the country before leaving for New Zealand to play another club date there, and then the New Zealand leg of the Big Day Out Festival. From there, the band would move on to Japan, and then back to Europe for dates including shows in Germany, Spain, and the 4 day stand at the Astoria in London.
On the whole, the band sound pretty good here, although Billy doesn't seem to give too much beyond his standard delivery in the songs. In fact, songs like Quiet have him deliberately taking it easy on some of the verses he would normally scream, and he just about runs out of steam by the end of Mayonaise. So, a little bit of tiredness here. And the band played a shorter set than what they normally performed during this era, most noticeably omitting I Am One (and the rant that went with it, of course). Silverfuck was played at this show, but is missing from the recording.
In all, the incomplete recording and average/shortened performance makes this one for the completist. There are better performances and recordings from this era.
