motels and car dealerships now. not an area known for crime. apparently around 8:40 police say a 20-year-old man was walking around wielding a knife. officers tried to arrest him and they say they felt threatened when he came at them with that knife. the man kept coming at them an officer then pulled out his gun and shot the man. police say they tried to give him emergency medical aid but that man was taken to the hospital and soon after pronounced dead. the officers involved in this shooting are now on administrative leave. that's standard procedure and the whole matter is under investigation by the san mateo county district attorney's offers. >> anne makovec in burlingame, thank you. san francisco police are going over surveillance video to try to identify a stabbing suspect. the stabbing happened about 7:40 yesterday evening aboard a 29 sunset bus near yorba street and sunset boulevard. the victim was stabbed a number of times but is expected to survive. the suspect apparently got off the bus and disappeared. he is described as white in his

reporter: this is what a serious infestation what looks like although this was from a san francisco motel room. one property manager told us by phone the stigma of bedbugs in an office, building owners tend to handle the problem discretely. >> this information will hurt your business, hurt tenants wanting to be in your building. it will stress out the tenants in your building. >> reporter: in fact, the property manager asked us not to use her name, because she said she recently handled an office infestation for a client in san francisco and was concerned that revealing her name would reveal the building with the problem. but she said a female employee had been traveling apparently brought in the bedbugs unknowingly through clothing or a suitcase. >> wasn't that she just came sat at the desk and goes home. she had a lot of movement throughout the day. so you have to inspect kind of the areas of movement that this person -- you know, that that employee moves in. >> reporter: bedbugs are difficult to eradicate. >> people have them in their desks, boxes of files. a complex area. >> reporter:

now the sheriff says she admitted to suffocating the children at a motel and then putting them in her car and rolling it into a river to cover up the crime. she also has a five-year-old daughter who was unharmed and is living with a family member. >> time now 5:44. a santarita jail inmate is in critical condition this morning. officials say he collapsed after fighting with sheriff's deputies, that is when a deputy tried to move 50-year-old marvin harrison from his flooded jail cell on monday night. they say he apparently broke free and charged ath the deputy who then tazed him. he was seen by a nurse then collapsed at the medical clinic. harrison was arrested friday in oakland for driving under the influence. >>> tonight a memorial will be held for a virginia man who was shot to death in oakland, 45- year-old jink honk cane was killed on webster vote a month ago during a robbery. police have arrested two suspects in the case. he was here for a job interview at geeingel. his wife is expected to afind tonight's memorial service will which also raise money for the couple's three children

. >> reporter: across the street at this motel, province persuaded a guest to let him sleep on the floor for the night. >> apparently one of our guests who just started talking to him, said he needed a place to crash. so one of our guests was being a good samaritan, let him crash on the floor. >> reporter: later that night a member of the church recognized a photo of the escaped inmate and alerted sheriff's deputies. u.s. marshals staked out the church on monday morning and found the convicted murderer walking down the road carrying a 9 millimeter handgun and a hitchhiking sign asking for a ride to casper. >> he was relieved that this manhunt was over for him and that this long process was finally over for him. >> reporter: the manhunt started when province and two other inmates escaped from this arizona prison july 30th. authorities believe casslynn welch threw wire cutters over the fence to help her fiance and cousin john mccluskey escape along with two other inmates, daniel renwick and province. renwick was captured in rifle, colorado, two days later. investigators say there is eviden
