today, the epa and the department of transportation announced a proposal to make a 20% reduction in the greenhouse gas emissions and increase fuel consumption of the next eight years. already, the obama administration had called on autumn makers to rest of the economy for cars and trucks and suv's to more than 35 miles per gallon until -- by 2016. everything from garbage trucks to school buses fallen to the new proposal. even heavy duty pickup trucks will be forced to do better at the pump. the proposal looks to get reductions of 10%-20% based on the truck's size. the tractor trailers are facing the biggest cut. current technologies already can replace the ability for heavy truck makers to reach these new standards. these are standards they say will also have an impact on their bottom line. with the average tractor-trailer driving more than 150,000 miles per year, this equals lower fuel costs. it is an economic benefit to an environmental challenge. kirk gregory, wbal-tv 11 news. >> walmart is jumping into the ebook craze. they are now selling the nook. many are making the jump to digit
