happy martin luther king day. i just want to s and congratulate you for all the great work that is going on for the corporation for national & community service. as a minister, i realize that church has not taking a full stan of opportunities that the government gives because of the generation -- of the separation of crch and state. you have had a clause where you help initiate small nonprofits to get into a special class is. you ask if you're a n applicant to get funds. because of that, i want to know at you do to help and what will be done and how money would be allocated. it gets trickle-down. what is going to be done and what is going to be done to help the small fire starters to get started and to be effective in such communities? guest: that is a great question. we're doing a couple of things. if you go to our website, we have a resource center that is available for emerging nonprofits that just getting started. you can learn about how to engage volunteers, what are the best practices and so on. that is one

service for the people across the country celebrating and honoring the life of martin luther king jr. he would have turned 82 today. in san francisco, people behind the nonprofit, one brick, their day of serving to the community was a big success. today the 10th anniversary of the mlk inspire day in the bay area. during an award ceremony, an executive director talked about the purpose. >> one brick is about making volunteering easy for people. it's about removing all of the barriers from getting out there and getting involved with your community. we found that -- you know, there is a big gap between sitting on your couch and thinking i would look to go hope this weekend and finding opportunity and going and doing it. we remove that. >> martin luther king day will be on serbed by government, schools, libraries monday. since launching in 2001, one brick donated 340,000 of hours of community service to nonprofits across the country. >> a special weekend. we have the special forecast. seemed like summer almost. >> it did. how about 70 in santa rosa. 68 in san jose. almost 70 in gilroy. gr
